Days of our Lives

Alison Sweeney Is Pretty Busy, But If DAYS Calls, She May Answer!

It sounds like fan fiction  – Days of our Lives’ Sami Brady being paired with All My Children’s Ryan Lavery – but that’s just what’s happened, at least with their portrayers, Alison Sweeney and Cameron Mathison.

The duo star in the Murder She Baked movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries and the actors are currently filming the next installment in which Sweeney plays Hannah Swensen, a crime-solving baker, and Mathison brings to life Mike Kingston, a police detective.

Soap Hub caught up with Sweeney at the Hallmark Channel’s recent TCA winter press where she talked about what’s next for Hannah and what it would take for DAYS to get her to visit Salem once more!

You posted on Instagram that you had an injury to your ACL (anterior cruciate ligament) while skiing with your family in December. How are you doing?

I’m okay. It’s more frustrating than anything.

I bet! You’re the type who likes to stay busy and active! You want to…

What’s coming up next?

We’re doing another Murder She Baked movie and we have written in [my condition]. Hannah falls victim to an injury after chasing a bad guy.

I have. It’s a great project. They’re happy with it and we have a blast doing it. The Hallmark people are a great group to work with and they always do a great event [like this party tonight].

It’s just been a joy working with Cameron. He’s fantastic! He’s so busy like I used to be back in the day!

He always makes working together such a pleasure. He’s available, willing and exciting. I think the fans have responded to the chemistry [between Hannah and Mike].

What would it take for you to go back to Days and play Sami again – either for a limited run or something longer?

(Smiling) They’d have to start by asking me, so we’ll see! But I’m keeping pretty busy doing other stuff.
