Alison Sweeney Celebrates Amazing Milestone!

Sami is once again in big trouble on Days of Our Lives, but Alison Sweeney has plenty of reason to celebrate!

Sweeney was born on September 19, 1976 in Los Angeles, California, which means that she turns 42 today! She is the second of three children… and has an older brother and a younger one.

She entered acting at a very young age, appearing on Simon & Simon in 1984. That began a string of primetime guest starring roles on shows like Webster, St. Elsewhere, Walt Disney’s Wonderful World of Color, and I Married Dora.

In 1988, she was a regular on the show, Family Man with Mom’s Mimi Kennedy. In 1990, she was on A Brand New Life with Barbara Eden and David Tom (ex-Billy, The Young and the Restless). She also guest starred on Tales From The Darkside and was in the movie The End of Innocence, which was written, directed, and starred Dyan Cannon.

But it was in 1993 when she got the role of a lifetime as Sami Brady on Days of Our Lives, which she has played on and off ever since. While on the show, she was also an evening undergraduate at UCLA, where she took business classes after work.

During her time away from the show, she hosted NBC’s The Biggest Loser and went on to star in many movies for The Hallmark Channel.

On the personal front, Sweeney has been married to David Alan Sanov since July 8, 2000, and the couple has two children — Benjamin Edward Sanov, born on February 25, 2005 and Megan Hope Sanov, born on January 12, 2009. She enjoys swimming, kickboxing, and gymnastics. She also loves to garden.
