Alison Sweeney Has A Cancer Safety Message For You

At the end of June, Alison Sweeney revealed a skin cancer diagnosis. Luckily the on-again/off-again Days of Our Lives star caught it early. Now she’s teaming up with Stand Up To Cancer to make sure that you don’t have to go through what she did.

She also wants to make sure that if you do, you catch it early — just like she did. Sweeney, beloved by DAYS fans for playing Sami — and who isn’t afraid of anything, wants people to know that it’s as easy as ABCDE to catch skin cancer in its tracks and she explains how.

“August is Summer Sun Safety Month, and I am thrilled to have teamed up with #StandUpToCancer – @SU2C – to share some tips on how you and your loved ones can screen for signs of skin cancer. It’s easy as ABCDE!”

She directs fans to check out the link in her profile, which is to see the Stand Up To Cancer image that explains the ABCDE way of checking any questionable mole or spot. It is their hope that knowing this will help you to catch anything early by making that appointment with a doctor.

Back in June, Sweeney found something on her nose that she wasn’t sure about but smartly had it check and it was caught early. She shared advice about why you should never let something go since so many of us try to convince ourselves that something isn’t really anything at all.

“Even if it seems like nothing, let an expert decide. Early detection of skin cancer gives you the greatest chance for successful skin cancer treatment, and prevents it from developing into something more complicated.” Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC.
