It turns out last year’s brief story that lasted about eight days when Adrienne tested positive for the breast cancer gene wasn’t for nothing after all on Days of Our Lives.
Next week, Adrienne learns she has breast cancer, but not before trying to escape the reality she knows is coming.
According to the December 12 issue of Soap Opera Digest, Adrienne (Judi Evans) flees the hospital and heads straight to church before Kayla (Mary Beth Evans) can even announce her test results.
Once she does make it back to the hospital, she has to face facts and admit that she was not on top of following up on her mammograms as she should have been.

Last fall, Adrienne learned her mother had breast cancer, but Jo managed to pull through and Kayla hopes she can help Adrienne do the same. Meanwhile, both men that love Adrienne worry.
However, before the week is out Adrienne receives a surprise visitor. Actress Judi Evans tells Soap Opera Digest: “Adrienne finds herself connected to someone she never would have expected. It touches Adrienne in a way that no one else has been able to.”
