It has been a while since we have seen Abby Deveraux DiMera and Chad DiMera driving story on Days of our Lives, but this week all of that changed — and we’re so here for it! And the best part? The DAYS writers managed to put both front and center without it being a threat to their solid marriage.
Days of our Lives: Chabby Is Back
There’s an old saying that a happy couple on a soap is a boring couple. Well, if anyone can blow apart that notion, it’s Chad (Billy Flynn) and Abby (Marci Miller). Then again, DAYS has often proved that saying wrong, seemingly having no problem keeping couples like John Black (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena Evans Black (Deidre Hall) and Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) active in Salem.
Chad and Abby haven’t been doing much lately, outside of Abby sniping at her new half-sister Gwen Rizczech (Emily O’Brien), and there’s a lot of water under that bridge already — despite it being newly discovered. Gwen did her best to destroy Abby to get back at their father, Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford). Now Gwen has changed and fallen in love with Xander Cook (Paul Telfer).

But in doing so, she’s been a very bad girl — hiding the fact that Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) was behind his true love Sarah Horton’s (Linsey Godfrey) leaving Salem. Now Abby, completely unaware of this, is searching for cousin Sarah and Gwen is in a panic. This is exciting, as Days of our Lives viewers have been begging for Sarah’s return.
Opposite this, Chad caught Lucas Horton (Bryan Dattilo) being a little naughty, but since it worked to take his brother EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) out of the top spot at DiMera, he looked the other way — which has pumped up the brothers’ rivalry. We can’t wait to see how EJ fights back. All of this is great news for Chabby fans, who have missed seeing their faves mixing it up in Salem.
