Here’s a little tip. When you’ve grown tired and weary after searching high and low for your injured beloved inside a bombed-out chamber, and you just can’t bring yourself to apply the requisite CPR, a little quoted Shakespeare won’t go amiss.

Sure, sure, it was a little silly that lines from Romeo & Juliet brought Ciara (Victoria Konefal) back from the brink of death. But so were Ciara and Ben’s (Robert Scott Wilson) shared dreamscapes, mind-melds, and her apparent confusion at what to do when you’ve severed a gas line.

Hint, try to at least stop up the hole and slow the gas’s exit. And don’t create sparks. But at least the “lady in a cage” phase of this storyline is over with. On to the second!

Further DAYS Musings

* We’ve apparently seen the last of Ava’s (Tamara Braun) apartment, since Rafe’s (Galen Gering) insisting that she remain with him at his abode. It doesn’t make a whole lotta sense, especially since her life is no longer in danger, but at least it’ll help up the awkward factor when the soap launches the inevitable Ava/Rafe/Nicole (Arianne Zucker) love triangle.

* Was anybody else disappointed at how quickly Gabi (Camila Banus) and Abigail’s (Marci Miller) partnership fell apart? And, if you were in Gabi’s shoes, would you actually believe Gwen’s (Emily O’Brien) claims that she’d keep your name out of the police report that she was on her way to file?

* Yes Paulina (Jackée Harry), this town most certainly does need you. But here’s hoping that the next time a “teachable moment” reveals itself, the explanation will be given onscreen rather than during the commercial break. Viewers don’t like missed opportunities.

* Why, oh why does Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) insist on proving everyone who disparages her right? Chloe (Nadia Bjorlin) thinks she’s a certifiable loon, so Kristen plans to stab her to death with a letter opener. Sarah (Linsey Godfrey) expresses a fear that she won’t be able to control her impulses, so Kristen knocks her unconscious with a paperweight.

At this rate, Brady’s (Eric Martsolf) going to start to think that his lady love hasn’t actually mended her villainous way, and begin to really embrace the possibility of giving his and Chloe’s romance another go. Days of our Lives airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
