When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the Days of our Lives week that was.

Days of our Lives: A Critic’s Week In Review

If you were an actor on Days of our Lives, and you played the likes of Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman), Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens), Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold), EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel), or if your name was Stacy Haiduk, then you’d be set.

The most recent DAYS week was chockablock with scenes featuring those actors/characters and their various storylines, but the remainder of the canvas got some serious short shrift.

Paulina Price (Jackée Harry) finally made peace with Lani Price Grant (Sal Stowers), became an accidental witness to Chanel and Allie’s lovemaking, and then promptly disappeared.

Gabi Hernandez DiMera (Camila Banus) and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) who, the last time I checked, are busily organizing a coup were granted one measly episode. Ditto Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and Abe Carver (James Reynolds).

Here silly little me was thinking that maybe Paulina’s near-death experience and the news of her rapprochement with Lani might provide Abe with something to react to, but no.

And am I the only one who thinks seeing Xander and Abigail Deveraux DiMera (Marci Miller) actually working together, however begrudgingly, to find Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) would be a hoot?

What do you think? Post a comment!

Days of our Lives does deserve a plethora of kudos, however, for those scenes featuring Steve Johnson (Stephen Nichols) and Kayla Brady Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) going undercover as Father Nichols and Sister Mary Elizabeth – HA! see what they did there? I want to see more of that. At the very least, more than one shows worth.

Further DAYS Musings

* If Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) is going to claim in open court that he manufactured evidence in order to send his brother to prison, shouldn’t he have given his wife a heads-up?

* In what universe would Sami Brady DiMera (Alison Sweeney) forgo sitting in on EJ’s trial?

* I’ve seen a number of DAYS fans batting around the idea that the Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) meeting with Gabi and Jake wasn’t the real McCoy, but instead the work of JoeDevil, and I’m afraid I must disagree.

Granted Maggie’s never been known for her wheeling or dealing prowess, but it isn’t like she’s new to the business world. She oversaw the running of a farm while in her late twenties/early thirties. She was an investor in Countess Wilhelmina. She owned and managed two highly successful restaurants. And as far as I’m aware she’s also still the owner of Intensity Day Spa; heck, Chez Rouge may even still be around and operational

* Where exactly do Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) and Ciara Brady Weston (Victoria Konefal) plan to put a dedicated nursery in their minuscule studio apartment?
