When it comes to Days of our Lives, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of the DAYS week that was.
Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) has got a lot to answer for…but so does Eli Grant (Lamon Archey). Let’s face facts. If Eli hadn’t insisted on bringing Kristen to “justice” for stabbing Victor (John Aniston), no one, and we mean NO ONE would be in the predicament that they’re in now.
Eli just couldn’t stand to see Kristen getting away with exacting what many might term “righteous revenge” …. but perhaps he should have taken umbrage with Victor and Xander (Paul Telfer) who’d committed about half a dozen felonies with their little baby switcheroo and that whole let’s frame Will (Chandler Massey) for vehicular manslaughter scheme.
But no. Kristen was, apparently, the only one in the wrong. Kristen was the only one out of that whole group who deserved to pay for the crime that she committed. The men involved got…what exactly? A stern talking-to from Maggie (Suzanne Rogers)? We know she can be shrill at times, but it hardly seems like a fitting punishment.
Now, please don’t get us wrong. We wholeheartedly believe that Kristen needs serious reprimand – and to be imprisoned inside some maximum security facility – for what she’s done since being sent to Statesville. She’s done some inexcusable things.
What we are saying, however, when you look at the big picture, is she shouldn’t have been sent to the hoosegow in the first place. That was all Eli’s fault. Perhaps his punishment has finally come in the form of Chanel (Precious Way).
That little spitfire seems harmless enough, but if the whole Eli, Lani, Chanel situation doesn’t give off Carrie, Austin, Sami (Alison Sweeney) 2.0 vibes, we don’t know what does.
* Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) is a terrible father. That shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone who can remember the plethora of times that he got going when the going got tough with his wife and kids, but for all the newer viewers out there, just be aware of this fact.
Don’t be at all shocked that he took the word of one daughter over the word of another, don’t be shocked that he didn’t seem in the least bit flustered to learn that Gwen (Emily O’Brien) played him for a fool, and don’t be shocked that he took offense to the fact Abby (Marci Miller) was seriously pissed off at him for his treatment of her. That’s just Jack.
* Speaking of Gwen…are we supposed to feel sorry for her? Is this whole, being forced to transport drugs plot suppose to endure us to her? Because it doesn’t. What it comes off as is karma coming back to seriously bite a bad girl in the butt.
* Sami and Lucas (Bryan Dattilo) continued to delight and tug out our heartstrings in equal measure this week; and what a clever way to lay the groundwork for E.J.’s return. Of course, he’s going to want to know why his missus needed $10 million smackeroonies all in one go.
* What is up with men walking up to, and manhandling Jan (Heather Lindell)? First Philip (Jay Kenneth Johnson) and now Dr. Snyder (Michael Lowery). Is it any wonder this poor girl has gone around the twist? Her father couldn’t care less if she lived or died, she was raped by Nicole’s (Arianne Zucker) slime bag daddy…
Shawn (Brandon Beemer) was the first male in Jan’s life that showed her a modicum of kindness, so of course, she’s desperate to win his love and affection. And that’s exactly what Shawn and Belle (Martha Madison) – Salem, USA’s latest sleuthsome twosome – were counting on.
Too bad they didn’t count on Dr. Snyder’s big mouth! Days of our Lives (DOOL) airs weekdays on NBC. Check your local listings for airtimes.
