Learn more about Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay), and his evil deeds in Salem! Dr. Rolf made his debut as Stefano DiMera’s brainy cohort in crime in 1997.
John (Drake Hogestyn), Hope (Kristian Alfonso), Stefano and Kristen (Eileen Davidson) met him, when they arrived at a jungle compound in search of a cure for the dying Roman. Rolf was the man attempting to concoct it.
2. Mr. Chips
His specialty during his DAYS tenure was implanting chips in unsuspecting citizens so Stefano (Joseph Mascolo) could gain control of them and have them do his bidding. Rolf’s victims have included John, Hope, and Vivian.
3. The Baby Switch
Under Stefano’s orders, Rolf switched the baby boy born to his niece, Marlo, who was going to be adopted by Lexie and Abe, with Hope’s newborn son. At the time, Stefano believed he might be Hope’s baby’s father and wanted the child raised by his daughter, Lexie.

Ultimately, Bo (Peter Reckell) turned out to be Isaac’s (later Zack) father, but he and Hope took home J.T. It took years before the devious plot was exposed, and Bo and Hope got their son back.
4. Twin Twist
Rolf was directly involved in the conception of the mysterious Gemini twins, who arrived in Salem in a pseudo spaceship.
The pair, also known as Cassie and Rex, were the product of Kate’s eggs and Roman’s sperm and were carried by Marlena. Got that? At one point, Rolf programmed the twins to kill anyone who posed a threat to the DiMera family.
