Who Is Tina O’Brien?
She was born on August 7 in Rusholme, Manchester, England, where she was also raised. After attending Trinity C.E. High School, O’Brien started her acting career and was cast in a number of television shows, including The Cops and Clocking Off.
At just 16 years old, she was cast as Sarah-Louise Platt on Coronation Street in 1999. She took over the role from Lynsay King and stayed on the show until 2007 when she announced her departure. However, she ended up returning to the role in 2015 and has been there ever since.
The actress has been very open about her struggle with postpartum depression and revealed she went through a very dark period after giving birth to her daughter over 10 years ago. She has spoken about suffering from depression with the hope that it inspires other women who may be going through the same thing to seek help.
Like many other British soap stars, she competed on Strictly Come Dancing — in 2010 with partner Jared Murillo. She was eliminated in week five after falling in the bottom two with Felicity Kendal, who was saved.
