Chris Gascoyne is a British actor who is best known for playing Peter Barlow in Coronation Street for almost 20 years.

Who Is Chris Gascoyne?
He was born on January 31 in Huthwaite, Nottinghamshire, England to parents Marian and Derrick. He went to Ashfield School and the Central School of Speech and Drama.
Odd Job
Before he made it as an actor, Gascoyne had a number of jobs to pay the bills. One of his least favorites was being a pizza delivery driver, as he had to ride around the city on a scooter in rush hour traffic. Not only did he not make very much money, but someone tried to rob him at one point.

Soap Career
Gascoyne was first approached by the casting people at Coronation Street after he did a play at the Royal Exchange, but the day before the interview he broke his ankle, so they weren’t able to cast him. However, he was later cast as Peter Barlow and has now been on the show for nearly 20 years.
Finding Clarity
Needing a break from acting a few years back after dealing with some heavy storylines, the actor took time off and decided to attend a Buddhist retreat. While there, he had no contact with the outside world, had to eat a vegan diet, and focused on meditation. He was able to find clarity during this retreat and uses the Buddhist teachings he learned when he starts feeling overwhelmed.

Gascoyne has been married to actress Caroline Harding since 2002. In fact, she has even appeared in Coronation Street. The couple has three children together.
