Dr. Taylor Hayes, Steffy’s mom, turned out to be the logical (if also surprise) assailant when Bill was shot earlier this year on The Bold and the Beautiful.
While veteran fans were thrilled to see the good doctor return, newer fans of B&B may not be as familiar with her.
Here’s a rundown of everything you need to know about Dr. Taylor Hayes!
Taylor-Made
Taylor came onto the scene as Caroline’s (Joanna Johnson) doctor. She worked with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) to help break the news that his wife was dying to Ridge (Ronn Moss, now played by Thorsten Kaye).
As Brooke was pregnant with Eric’s (John McCook) son, Ridge turned to Taylor after Caroline died.
Shrink Session
Ridge and Taylor married and she eventually gave birth to his son, Thomas, named after St. Thomas, the place where Ridge proposed to her.
But, time and fate conspired to tear the couple apart. Believed dead in a plane crash, Taylor was actually alive and living as the guest of Prince Omar (Kabir Bedi) of Morocco.
When she finally made her way back to Los Angeles, Ridge was blind, which delayed their full reunion.
Death Becomes Her
After giving birth to Ridge’s twin daughters, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Phoebe (Mackenzie Mauzy), now deceased, Taylor was presumed dead — again — after Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) shot her.
In reality, Prince Omar (who else!) had whisked her away from the hospital and left a dummy behind to be placed in her open coffin.
After years of captivity, Taylor escaped Omar’s clutches and made her way back to Los Angeles where she was reunited with a reluctant Ridge, who had moved on to a life with Brooke.
From The Heart
Stephanie (Susan Flannery) lied about having a heart attack so Ridge would reunite with Taylor. After that was exposed, Ridge and Taylor split and he made his way back to Brooke.
Taylor could not catch a break because after she moved on to Nick (Jack Wagner) and had his baby boy, Jack, it was revealed that Brooke’s egg was used in Jack’s conception. Unable to bond with Jack, Taylor asked Brooke to raise him.
Other Dramas
Tragically, Taylor accidentally struck Darla Einstein Forrester (Schae Harrison) with her car, killing her.
She was later going to wed Thorne, but they decided to call it off. Taylor left town for a while and re-appeared this year to confess to Bill (Don Diamont) that she shot him.
