The late Stephanie Forrester often blasted her nemesis, Brooke Logan, on The Bold and the Beautiful. She also held up Taylor Hayes as a paragon of virtue compared to the woman she described as an unfit mother and “slut from the valley.” However, if Stephanie were alive today, she might be reserving her harsh words, not for Brooke but rather Thomas and Steffy’s mother!
Taylor Made For The Bold and the Beautiful
In the last few years, Taylor’s (Hunter Tylo) children, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and Thomas Forrester (Matthew Atkinson) have gone through some horrible ordeals. Steffy learned that Phoebe, the infant she and Taylor adopted so that Steffy’s daughter Kelly could have a sister, was actually Beth Spencer, Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle) and Liam Spencer’s (Scott Clifton) daughter.
As joyous as it was for Liam and Hope to be reunited with their baby, it was equally heartbreaking for Steffy to lose the child she thought was hers. Additionally, Thomas suffered a break from reality after transferring his feelings for Hope to the Hope mannequin, a lifelike representation of Hope used for a promotional campaign for the fashion line Hope for the Future.
Things grew worse for Steffy after she was in a motorcycle accident and developed an addiction to opioids/pain pills as she dealt with the fallout from the unintentional incident. Steffy and Thomas’s battles were occurring simultaneously. Either one of these crises would be enough to bring Taylor back to Los Angeles so she could help. Oddly, she returned for neither predicament.
In fact, Taylor hasn’t shown her face in quite some time. Her children may be grown but they still need their mother. As both a doctor who specializes in mental illness, abnormal behavior, and emotional disturbance, Steffy and Thomas’s stories were begging for the presence of their mom. Even if Taylor couldn’t treat her kids professionally, she could still respond to them emotionally.
Think about how Taylor and Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) teaming up to help their kids might have created problems in his marriage to Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang)? At the very least, Taylor could have advised an objective professional so that Steffy and Thomas could have gotten the care that they need.
Now, Thomas has gone through another emotional ordeal having been Justin’s (Aaron D. Spears) captive. He might end up experiencing PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder). Paging Dr. Hayes — stat! Also, Steffy has given birth to another child, her first son, whom she and the baby’s father Finn (Tanner Novlan) have named “Hayes” after Taylor’s first husband.
If for no other reason, Taylor needs to visit Steffy so that she can let her know that “Hayes” might not be the best name for her grandson given Blake Hayes’ (Peter Brown) abusive past. This is something Steffy likely doesn’t know about and who better to fill her in than her missing-in-action mother?
