In a tragic accident on Friday, actor and comedian Orson Bean, who had been married to The Bold and the Beautiful star Alley Mills for decades, was killed after being hit by a car while crossing the street.
Condolences To Alley Mills
The 91-year-old Bean began his career in radio and eventually transitioned to television, becoming a game show fixture in the 1980s. He appeared in countless films, including Being John Malkovich, and even made an appearance on BB in 2016 playing a character named Howard.
Mills has been playing Pam Douglas on BB since 2006. Pam is the sister of the late Stephanie Forrester and enjoys a quirky romance with Forrester employee, Charlie.
Bean and Mills were married for 27 years and were starring in a play together called Bad Habits at the Ruskin Group Theater in Santa Monica. Reports say Bean was walking across the road to the theatre where Mills was working when he was struck by one car and then a second one. It was the second car that seemed to kill the beloved star.
According to ABC7, friends confirmed the man who was hit was Bean. The crash looked to be completely accidental as Bean was walking between cars and drivers were unable to see him. ABC reports that both drivers remained at the scene.
Orson Bean was married twice before wedding Mills in 1993. He is survived by three children from his second marriage, Max, Susannah, and Ezekiel, as well as Mills, who he worked with on Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman. Soap Hub sends condolences to Alley Mills and her family during this tragic time. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
