There is a lovely Thanksgiving tradition on The Bold and the Beautiful where characters say what they are grateful for about the person on their left and to their right. In this clip above from a classic episode, Bill Spencer is seated next to Katie Logan — and also next to Quinn Fuller.

The Bold and the Beautiful — Giving Thanks

When Bill (Don Diamont) addresses Katie (Heather Tom), he speaks from the heart about how grateful he is that she’s their son’s mother and how she will be a wonderful role model for when he looks for a wife when he’s older because she’s an incredible woman. His words touch Katie deeply as she wipes away a tear.

But Dollar Bill isn’t done heaping out the praise or the gratitude, surprising Quinn (Rena Sofer). He shares his respect for what she has accomplished while also admitting he wouldn’t have been the best father if he had stayed back then. You can see her reaction in the video clip above.

The Bold and the Beautiful History

BB was created by William J. Bell and Lee Phillip Bell and made its debut on March 23, 1987 and introduced glitz and glamour to daytime soap operas. The families that were in the debut episode — the Forresters, Logans, and Spencers — remain in the forefront of the program today.

The show’s most enduring love story is the one between Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). BB’s backdrop is the glamorous world of fashion, but the show is known for telling social issue storylines, addressing such topics as homelessness, alcoholism, HIV/AIDS, Alzheimer’s disease, and transgender identity. No longer the new kid on the block, BB is established as one of television’s longest running programs and is one of the world’s most widely watched television shows. Lang and John McCook (Eric) have been with BB since its inception.

Bringing the Drama

BB is one of four remaining soap operas currently on the air. The other three daytime dramas are General Hospital (GH), Days of our Lives (DAYS), and The Young and the Restless (YR). Bradley Bell serves as the show’s executive producer and head writer.

The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes. For more about what’s coming up in Los Angeles, check out all the latest that’s been posted on B&B spoilers, and for an in-depth look at the show’s history, click here.
