In addition to his 25-year run on The Bold and the Beautiful as Ridge, Ronn Moss is also known for his music career. As a member of the band Player, he performed in the hit song Baby Come Back. Now, he’s got more music news to share.
Ronn Moss Makes Music
“It’s a brand new decade and I’m excited to start recording a brand new album in beautiful Lake Como,” Moss posted on Instagram. The actor/musician said he’s been inspired by the beautiful surroundings of Italy.
“We had a beautiful lunch today overlooking a gorgeous view of Lake Como. I’m enjoying my time in the beautiful special place that has already inspired several new songs in the studio.”
Moss, a native of Los Angeles, took to music at an early age. He was 11-years-old when he began to learn to play musical instruments including electric bass, guitar, and drums. In the mid-70s, he teamed up with musicians Peter Beckett, J.C. Crowley, and John Friesen to form Player. Soon, they were signed to Robert Stigwood’s RSO Records.
At The Top
Player’s single Baby Come Back stayed at the top spot in the pop charts and the band was honored by Billboard magazine as Top New Singles artist of 1978. Baby Come Back was introduced to a whole new audience when it was played on an episode of The Simpsons in which Homer had misplaced daughter Maggie while he was supposed to be watching her. (D’Oh!)
Moss and Beckett came to a parting of the ways over the trademark use of the band’s name. It was settled when it was announced that Moss would perform as Ronn Moss’ PLAYER in the future.
In May of 2014, Moss performed Baby Come Back on General Hospital as part of that show’s annual Nurses Ball talent show. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
