The coronavirus crisis has not only halted production on your favorite daytime soaps, but it’s given people time to pause and reflect on the bigger picture. The Bold and the Beautiful’s Rena Sofer posted a missive from a friend of hers and added some thoughts of her own regarding her pal’s sentiment.
Rena Sofer: Reflections
While Quinn certainly didn’t care that Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) life was blown to smithereens recently, Sofer is looking at the bigger picture off-screen. The Emmy-winner posted a note from a friend of hers, Jax Taylor (Vanderpump Rules), who is theorizing that we are going through this current challenge as a sign to take note of how we’ve been living our lives.
“[T]he true test will be how we come out of this,” Taylor posted in an Instagram story, “and when we do, remember what it was like when our freedom was taken from us. Let’s show the man upstairs that we can do better for ourselves and humanity.” (His full post can be read below.)
“I agree with [Jax’s] sentiments 1000%,” Sofer posted on Instagram. “We have all lost our way and we take the earth, the environment and what we think we deserve as the strongest ‘animals’ of this world for granted. The energy of this world has put us on a worldwide time out. Like children who tried to burn the house down (which my brother and I almost did as little kids) and got caught by our dad.
“We all need to rethink how we treat ourselves and our world and the animals that love protect and/or sustain us. Please think on this as we are all in quarantine. If you think this is NOT the new normal for our world think again. It’s time we reclaimed our humanity. And make our Mother Earth proud. #quarantine #covid_19.”
