Rick and Maya are both currently off the canvas on The Bold and the Beautiful, but Rick’s portrayer, Jacob Young, is planning on a reunion down the line. The actor’s YouTube talk show, Daytime After Dark, debuted last night and he said eventually he wants Mosley on as a guest!
“I’ve been watching my kids and the next generation really absorbing different kinds of media platforms,” Young told Soap Hub. This is what prompted him to develop his own web-based talk show.
“I’ve always enjoyed doing interviews, and I want to introduce my friends from over the years to my audience.”
On the debut episode of Daytime After Dark, Young interviews his pal Daren Kagasoff, who’s currently filming the NBC mid-season replacement series The Village.
Other upcoming guests are set to include performers and personalities from all walks of life, including Young’s pals from Broadway and All My Children, Trent Garrett (ex-Asher) and Virginia Madsen.
“Virginia’s been a fan of mine for years, having watched me on soaps,” Young says. For Halloween, he hopes to book Robert Englund, AKA Freddy Krueger from the Nightmare on Elm Street films.
Daytime After Dark is a streaming series, however, it’s also appointment viewing.
“For now, it’ll always be on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET,” says Young. “But if something comes up that’s topical and I want to discuss it more quickly, I will definitely give everyone a heads-up on social media platforms.”
While Young’s plan is to have his show encompass all kinds of topics, he says he will be calling on his daytime pals to have them be on as guests.
“Eventually, I’ll be reaching out to Karla Mosley [Maya],” Young says. “Nobody has seen us together in some time. That would be a fun interview, but it will be down the line. Kin Shriner [Scott, General Hospital] has expressed to me he’d like to do a show, too.”
