Sally Spectra’s not doing so well in the sweepstakes of love on The Bold and the Beautiful, but her portrayer, Courtney Hope, recently emerged as a winner at the New York Video Game Awards.
Congratulations, Courtney Hope
Hope won the award for Best Acting In a Game at the New York Video Game Awards for her performance of Jesse Faden in Control. The Los Angeles-based actress wasn’t in attendance at the ceremony, but a video of her acceptance speech was played in her absence.
“Hi, everyone, I am so bummed that I am not there, but I would love to thank the New York Game critics for this incredible honor.
“This is so cool; I’d love to thank God; I want to thank [lead writer] Sam Lake for trusting me with his incredible, insane vision and for trusting me to be your Jesse; I want to thank 505 Games and the entire Control Remedy team for all of your hard work and dedication and for allowing me to walk on this journey with you.
“I want to thank my friends, my family, and my boyfriend [Chad Duell, Michael, General Hospital] for your boundless support, always, [and] the fans for your support and continuing to play this game and to fight for the truth. So, in honor of Jessie I would love to say stay weird, stay curious, and always stay in pursuit of the truth. Thank you.”
Control is a video game that tells the story of the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), an undercover U.S. agency whose job it is to contain and comprehend phenomena that defies the laws of reality. Jesse (voiced by Hope) is the Bureau’s new Director. The enemy in this game is known simply as Hiss, which has corrupted reality. Control was released on August 27, 2019, for Microsoft Windows, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
In her current story, Hope’s character Sally has once again been thrust into a triangle with Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Flo (Katrina Bowden). The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
