Soap vet Victor Alfieri played Giovanni on The Bold and the Beautiful and Franco on Days of our Lives. Now, he’s bringing to life the part of a man who’d likewise fit in well on any soap opera — he’s an extremely wealthy, ex-playboy, who hides his wealth, hoping to find true happiness and love in the film My Secret Billionaire.
Victor Alfieri — My Secret Billionaire
In this new film, Alfieri plays Ferro Olivetti, who honors his father’s dying wish to visit a new city without the benefit of his wealth. Once in New York City, Ferro, after adopting the name Claude, encounters many challenges. He meets Diane, played by Ione Skye (Good Girls), a real estate agent. Watch for them to change each other’s lives in unimaginable ways.
Soap Hub: What attracted you to this role?
Victor Alfieri: The whole script is very charming. It’s like a good reminder of what life is all about. I know it sounds cliché, but sometimes we can forget what we really need, which is love. Of course, money helps — a lot, but if you don’t have a good relationship, good friends, and real love in your life, then you’re lost. That’s what attracted me to the film. We all know this message, but we often need reminding.
The other thing that drew me to this film was the scene with Ferro’s father. It was a short scene, but in the script, it reminded me of my relationship with my grandfather. I didn’t have a father in my life, so my grandfather was a father figure to me. I was crying when I read the script, actually. It brought back some memories.
Diane gives so much to Ferro not knowing about his wealth.
Ione is such a beautiful lady and a talented actress. Her character, Diane, wants to help mine because she wants to help — not because one day that it will come back to her. That’s not why you should be a good person. You can do [good] things because you believe in love and life, not because you want to be rewarded.
Ferro goes through some tough times including being mugged in New York — by an old lady!
Yes. Through his journey, he’s going to learn that money’s not everything.
When did you shoot this?
We shot it pre-COVID in New York and in Manhattan — such a beautiful place to visit! We started shooting in May and ended in June.
