On Tuesday, Rena Sofer posted on social media several flower arrangements and teased she had some more information to share — and she wasn’t kidding. Now we know — she will be leaving her role as Quinn Fuller on The Bold and the Beautiful. What does this mean for the character — and could it be an answer to General Hospital fans’ prayers?
Rena Sofer Out As Quinn
Sofer tweeted the news, which appears in the new Soap Opera Digest, that she has finished taping her last scenes as Quinn. “Friday August 5 was my last day playing Quinn on @BandB_CBS.” The actress revealed to the magazine that it was her choice to move on.
On Instagram, Sofer shared a picture of beautiful flower arrangements with the words, “August 5, 2022 was a very big day for me. More to come……” and now we know that was her last day of filming at the CBS studio where the show shoots. There were several cards in the image, saying they would miss her and love her. She did mention her ceramics in the tweet — but will she really be doing that fulltime?
General Hospital fans certainly hope not. Rena Sofer originated the role of Lois Cerullo back in late 1993 and won the Outstanding Supporting Actress Daytime Emmy in 1995. Lois just so happens to be Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) mother and Ned Quartermaine’s (Wally Kurth) ex-wife. Her return could be a new thorn in the marriage of Ned to Olivia Falconeri Quartermaine (Lisa LoCicero).
Not only that, Lois grew up with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) back in Bensonhurst, and she can put the mafia don on notice like few others. The role was last played by Sofer’s former B&B castmate, Lesli Kay (ex-Felicia Forrester). Will this happen? Soap Hub and fans certainly would prefer to see Rena Sofer stay on our soap screens. Stay tuned.
