It was quite a shock for The Bold and the Beautiful’s Tanner Novlan, who plays Dr. John ‘Finn’ Finnegan when his son Jones arrived in the world seven weeks early. While he plays a doctor on TV, he and wife Kayla Ewell didn’t expect to be spending so much time in a real-life hospital. But that time has happily come to an end.
Tanner Novlan Brings His Son Home
“Finally home where he belongs 🤍,” wrote his mom on her Instagram page. “To all the nurses & doctors at Cedars Sinai Nicu, we can’t thank you enough for all you’ve done to help us get here. We’re so grateful & so excited to have him home.”
The happy news was magnified with an adorable video, set to the Leon Bridges song Coming Home, that accompanied the post that documented the little one’s trip home. “After five weeks in the NICU, we can finally take Jones home,” narrates Ewell, as we see them both in the hospital. She asks her son how he feels about going home. It’s easy to see that his parents are over the moon about it.
The scene then changes to watching his daddy Tanner Novlan strapping the little cutie, complete with a hat bearing his name, into his stroller as he asks his son to say goodbye to all of the amazing nurses who helped him on his journey. A shot in his car seat in the back with Mom is next, as Novlan is up front navigating the way home.

But they saved the most adorable moment for last as Jones got to meet his very excited big sister for the first time. The joy on a now-3-year-old Poppy’s face is pretty much everything.
The actor also posted this morning after the baby’s first night at home. Novlan sat on a a bed propped up by pillows holding the lightly swaddled boy. “Long night but a great morning. So happy to have our lil man home 💪” read the caption.
