As Donna Logan, Jennifer Gareis acts as ambassador at times on The Bold and the Beautiful. She’ll be the sounding board to her sisters Brooke and Katie when they get involved in heavy drama. Is that what’s bringing her back to BB when the show returns?
Jennifer Gareis Returns
Gareis has been posting on social media that she’s proud to be associated with the first scripted series to return to production after shows went on hiatus as a precaution against the coronavirus earlier this year.
“So pumped to be setting the standard in #Hollywood as the first #tvshow back in #production!” Gareis posted on Instagram. “Things are looking up! Meeting the challenges of #coronavirus #covid19 with #protocols #guidelines #caution #weareinthistogether @boldandbeautifulcbs @cbstvstudios.”
After making her daytime debut as Grace Turner on The Young and the Restless in 1997, Gareis switched over to BB in 2006. While some actors play the same role on both shows — Tracey Bregman (Lauren) and Eileen Davidson (Ashley), for example — Gareis took on the existing role of Donna, which had been originated by Carrie Mitchum.
Donna, in a way, took over where Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) had left off by falling for Eric (John McCook). And, like Brooke, Donna faced the wrath of Stephanie (Susan Flannery), who moved heaven and earth to drive Eric and Donna apart from one another.
Later, Donna discovered that the son she’d given up at birth was Marcus (Texas Battle). His father is Bill Spencer’s (Don Diamont) right-hand man, Justin Barber. Donna became a grandmother when Amber (Adrienne Frantz) gave birth to Marcus’s daughter, Rosie.
No word yet on what is bringing Gareis back to the show (if indeed she is popping up again). Soap Hub will keep viewers alerted as details become available. In them meantime, check out her enthusiastic post below. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS. Check local listings for air times.
