It may be hard to believe but The Bold and the Beautiful, once considered the new kid on the block, is turning 35 years old this year! The half-hour soap opera debuted on March 23, 1987, and is hitting the halfway mark between 30 and 40 in less than two months.
It’s The Bold and the Beautiful’s Birthday
What should the fine folks at The Bold and the Beautiful do to honor the show’s 35th anniversary? Soap Hub posed this question to fans. Read on to see the results.
In Like A Lion
Almost a third of you, 28%, say that you’d like to see the show get back to basics by showing a big fashion show. In the premiere episode, viewers were treated to what it was like backstage at a fashion presentation.
We saw Eric Forrester (John McCook) and his sons Ridge and Thorne, and his associate Margo Lynley (Lauren Koslow) working their magic, making last-minute adjustments and such as the models headed off-camera onto the runway. Over the years, the fashion shows evolved into international spectacular sensations! Bring on the fashion in 2022!
The Best of The Bold and the Beautiful
While the show has kept a consistent cast over the years, many folks have come and gone over the years and nearly 9% of you would like to see familiar faces revisit the show for some guest spots. Like who?
Viewers wouldn’t mind seeing Karen Spencer (Joanna Johnson), Nick Marone (Jack Wagner), Jackie Marone (Lesley-Anne Down), and Thorne Forrester (Winsor Harmon) pop up. B&B doesn’t do it as often as other shows do but the soap has brought folks back from the dead — so how about the return of Macy (Bobbie Eakes) to help ring in 35?
Flashbacks In Fashion
A little over 6% of you would like to see flashbacks of classic scenes. You’re up for watching memorable moments like the time Sally Spectra (Darlene Conley) fell into Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) pool, epic weddings like Ridge and Brooke’s many ceremonies, and shocking moments like Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown) and Lauren Fenmore’s (Tracey Bregman) showdowns!
You Want It All
There’s a reason that seeing familiar faces and flashbacks received relatively low scores. Soap Hub included as an option if fans want all of these things to happen — fashion shows, return visits, and flashbacks — and that choice earned the highest number of votes. Nearly 57% of you say you want all these things to occur as B&B celebrates 35!
