It was inevitable that Hope would find out that Liam had an unplanned dalliance on The Bold and the Beautiful with his e-wife Steffy. In the capable hands of Annika Noelle, Hope’s heartbreak was so palpable the actress earned Soap Hub’s Performer of the Week for The Bold and the Beautiful.
Annika Noelle — Performmer of the Week
Hope appeared hopeful that she and Liam (Scott Clifton) could emerge stronger no matter what stood between them. However, Liam knew that given the secret he was about to share with his wife, that might not be possible.
Liam professed that Hope was the center of his universe and noted that even their most difficult moments brought them closer together. He said that they could move forward. “From what?” Hope asked, almost afraid to find out what Liam was talking about.
As Liam started to explain what led to his infidelity with Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), he recapped how he erroneously thought that Hope had been kissing Thomas (Matthew Atkinson). She told him it was unnecessary to rehash all this — almost as if she were afraid of what she’d learn as Liam continued to talk.
The more Liam talked, the more Hope realized that a big bomb was coming. As he continued to recap what had gone on before, emphasizing the emotions of what he was feeling, we saw on Hope’s face her wondering just how bad was this going to be? A lone tear spilled down her left cheek as Liam continued to apologize.
“Where did you sleep, Liam?” Hope asked, a part of her knowing the answer. “Is that what you’re trying to tell me? You and Steffy! No. No! You and Steffy! You and Steffy!!”
Hope couldn’t hold back more tears, her anguish and disgust that Liam had turned to his ex-wife for comfort over something that Hope never even did!
Her dream of moving past whatever stood between them has likely been shattered now that she knows the truth. There’s more drama to come once she learns that Steffy is pregnant and that Liam might be the dad. Whether Hope is headed for heartbreak or joy, we’re confident that Noelle will deliver emotional and compelling performances. The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
