Thomas Forrester Was The Only Attendant At Hope’s Pity Party

On today’s The Bold and the Beautiful episode, Thomas Forrester listened as Hope bemoaned her place in the world.

In addition, Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) put the kibosh on any future romance with Hollis (Hollis W. Chambers) and bemoaned her current estrangement from Hope. Also, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) found herself trapped between her ex-husband and his current wife. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Thomas Forrester Listens To Hope Grouse

At Forrester Creations, Steffy waxed lyrical about her and Hope’s life. Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) was no longer a concern, Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) was back in his proper home, Steffy had Finn (Tanner Novlan), and Hope was happily settled with Liam (Scott Clifton). And, of course, Hope For The Future is back on track thanks to Hope and Thomas’s (Matthew Atkinson) partnership. What more could they ask for?

Well, Hope would surely appreciate Liam giving Thomas the benefit of the doubt. But no matter how many times she tries to convince her hubby that Thomas has changed his ways, it just doesn’t land.

Figuring that hearing some firsthand accounts of how well Thomas and Hope are interacting with one another, Hope asked Steffy to speak on their behalf. Perhaps she could reassure Liam that he had nothing to worry about.

After admitting she’d already tried and failed to do just that, Steffy agreed to give it another go. For Hope. It’s the least she can do given that Hope so magnanimously welcomed Thomas back into the fold.

Across the hall, Liam put Thomas on notice. He was back working alongside Hope for one reason and one reason only: to save her line. “So please, understand, all the long hours, all the talk about teamwork and partnership, there’s no hidden message there. It’s all about Hope For The Future. It’s not about you.”

Hope stumbled upon the contentious convo and managed to overhear Liam pointedly point out that she was not attracted to Thomas, that she was “impregnably faithful,” and that it’s him that she loves with her whole heart.

Once Liam took his leave of the pair — and headed back to Steffy’s office, where she tried in vain to convince him that he had nothing to worry about where Hope and Thomas were concerned — Thomas made every effort to assure Hope that he had no intention of pursuing her or causing trouble in their marriage. And besides the point, there’s no way she’d fall for him even if he did try.

As he so eloquently summed it up, he might be a bad boy, but she’ll always be the good girl.

To that, Hope took slight exception. She explained that most of her adult life had been spent trying her best not to turn out like her mother, but recently she’s had a bit of an epiphany. “[My mom] had a tendency to jump from one man to the next, chasing passion and desire. She thrived on the attention, and I judged her for it. I thought it was inappropriate. But maybe she was just following her heart. Maybe I was wrong.”

Whatever the case may be, whatever the point Hope is trying to make, she thinks it may all boil down to her still trying to figure her life out.

Thomas declared that he likes Hope just the way she is, and so does their son. She’s their hope for the future [pun very much intended]. Hope appreciated that greatly.

B&B Recap: Real Talk

At Il Giardino, Trattoria Rustica, try as he might, Hollis just couldn’t convince Brooke to let him take her out on another date.

Though she enjoyed his company, though she finds him “very sweet and sexy, and a good kisser,” Brooke just isn’t ready to embark on something new. Unfortunately, that means that their days of “special deliveries” are over.

Taylor took Hollis’s vacant seat and inquired as to whether or not there would be another dinner between the two or if Brooke had chased Hollis away. Of course, Brooke had to explain that the latter was closer to the truth.

Later, the women got down to the heavy business that was trying to decipher why it is Hope is suddenly so concentrated on being “the complete opposite of Brooke.” What could have sparked that attitude? Brooke is fairly certain there’s trouble in Hope and Liam’s paradise, and she’s really rather projecting.
