On the October 20 episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Finn attempted to make sense of Steffy’s sudden decision to become a surrogate for Carter and Daphne. He assumed her impulsive decision was driven by anger over what happened in Monaco. But while Finn believed she acted out of spite, he had no idea how far her rage pushed her.
Key Takeaways
- Finn misinterpreted Steffy’s actions as pettiness over what happened in Monaco.
- Steffy let Finn believe she acted out of spite and made a last-minute decision.
- The growing divide between Finn and Steffy guarantees their marriage will implode when the truth comes out.
Finn Misinterprets Steffy’s Motivations
Finn (Tanner Novlan) was still reeling from Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) rushed decision to become a surrogate. He couldn’t wrap his mind around his wife going behind his back after they had spoken about it.
He convinced himself that her behavior stemmed from bitterness toward Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) and their trip to Monaco. Finn assumed her decision was a spiteful strike at him.
He recognized that her rage drove her to take off her wedding ring, but he was blind to where that anger actually led her. Steffy didn’t volunteer to carry a baby for Daphne (Murielle Hilaire) out of spite; her frustration drove her straight into Carter’s (Lawrence Saint-Victor) arms.
Finn Walks Out to Seek Answers
Finn was clearly overwhelmed by Steffy’s impulsiveness and deceit. He told her that he needed to get out of the house.
He headed straight to the hospital to clear his head. But focusing on his patients proved to be impossible.
Li (Naomi Matsuda) walked in and immediately noticed her son’s distress. She asked what was weighing on him.
Finn confided in his mother, detailing Steffy’s outrageous decision. He set off a chain reaction that will immediately blow his wife’s secret wide open.
Li’s Medical Authority Threatens Steffy’s Secret
By getting Li involved, Finn unknowingly put Steffy’s cover story on a fast track to destruction. Given that Li diagnosed Daphne’s infertility, it won’t take long for her to look through the medical records and notice the absence of an implantation.
Li and Finn will likely question the timeline of this surrogacy, shattering the illusion of Steffy’s story. Steffy thought a fake confession would buy her safety and time.
But bringing medical professionals into her life ensures there is nowhere left for her and Carter to hide. How will Steffy keep up with her lie now?
