On today’s The Bold and the Beautiful episode, Katie Logan made it absolutely clear how she wants her and Carter’s relationship to progress — and she clearly doesn’t want to remain “just good friends.”

Bold and the Beautiful Recap Highlights

In addition, Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) sat for a quick chat with his therapist, and Liam (Scott Clifton) implored Hope (Annika Noelle) to just say no…to Thomas, obviously. Now, let’s dig a little deeper into what exactly happened.

Katie Logan Clears Up The Confusion

Katie’s (Heather Tom) no-good, very bad day continued to get worse and worse. Enter Carter Walton (Lawrence Saint-Victor), to check on her. Seeing Carter put a smile on Katie’s face and a pep in her step and led her to bemoan the fact that she’d had to cancel their dinner plans.

Carter insisted that it wasn’t a problem, and Katie thanked him. “I have a lot to thank you for,” Katie observed, before adding, “You’ve been such a dear friend to me.”

Carter wondered if Katie considered him just a friend. Katie said, of course: “You’re one of the good guys. I feel really lucky to have you on my side. I just want you to know how much I appreciate you.”

Carter granted Katie that the…friendship…that the two of them have been building is a beautiful thing, and the two concurred that it means so much to them to have someone to hold onto. The two reflected on the challenges that they’ve faced together — “Bill and Sheila topping the list” — and agreed that they’ve had some good times and some great meals.

That led Katie to exclaim that she doesn’t want to mess up the good thing they have going. “It’s uncomplicated and special…it’s rare to find someone that you can laugh with, someone that you be silly with, and still be vulnerable, and, you know, be there for. It’s rare.”

Carter admitted that he knew exactly what Katie meant…then wondered if that meant that he was being officially relegated to the friend zone. That shocked Katie. Is that what Carter gleaned from all that? Is that what she was saying? Absolutely not! In an effort to clear up any and all confusion, Katie pulled Carter into a passionate, giggle-inducing smooch.

B&B Recap: Drive-By Therapy

Over at Forrester Creations, Taylor (Krista Allen) and Thomas welcomed the latter’s psychiatrist, Dr. Joshua Howard (Zae Jordan), and thanked him for making the trek. The pleasure was all his, contended Dr. Howard. In fact, he’s of the opinion that the get-together in the office shows promise.

First and foremost, Dr. Howard wanted to know, in light of the effort Thomas has been making in controlling his impulses, has his patient noticed a difference in himself. Thomas thinks so. “I’m being more objective, and I can kind of catch my emotions before they grab a hold of me.”

Thomas then copped to feelings of shame, which Taylor was quick to point out was not something that anyone ever wanted him to feel. “We just want you to understand why you do some of the things you do.”

Next, the Hope of it all was discussed. Thomas admitted that there have been moments where his attraction to her has flared but swore that he’s no longer fixated on her. When Taylor questioned what was different this time around, he theorized that it was because he actually believes it. He only wants what’s best for Hope and for her to be able to trust him again.

Once the session was at an end, and Dr. Howard had taken his leave, Taylor and Thomas stayed behind to relax, reflect, and to wonder whether or not Liam would support Thomas’s return to Hope For The Future.

Liam Spencer Makes A Big Ask Of Hope

Elsewhere, their little cabin paradise to be exact, Hope and Liam were discussing that very subject — and no, Liam was not in favor of the idea.

Hope did her best to explain that it was Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) who laid down the dictate — hire Thomas or else risk Hope For The Future being shelved indefinitely — but Liam couldn’t believe that Thomas, Thomas of all people, was the only hope (HA!) that his wife had of salvaging her line.

What’s more, Liam couldn’t fathom that Hope was even entertaining the idea. “Is there anything, anything at all that Thomas could do that would make him a dealbreaker? Anything that would take hiring him off the table forever? Because I’m getting scared that the answer is no. I scared Hope. I’m scared that Thomas could sell company secrets to a competitor, that he could literally throw an intern out of the window of the Forrester CEO office right in front of you and Steffy and you would shrug and go, “Well, he is a very talented designer…where do you draw the line?”

Hope blubbered that it would do Douglas (Henry Joseph Samiri) good to see his parents collaborating rather than battling it out; Liam countered that that would be a good argument if it was original and not something parroted by Hope.

“Please, please do not hire [Thomas]. Please do not give him that opening in your life,” begged Liam. Okay, fine, I’ll tell him no, replied Hope. Liam thanked her profusely and gathered her in a hug, but it was clear that Hope was conflicted.
