Soaps are full of shocking twists, and Bold and the Beautiful threw viewers a big one when Douglas Forrester decided on his guardianship. Rather than choose his adoptive mother, Hope, or his volatile father, Thomas, the young man opted to live with Steffy, his aunt.

But should Douglas Forrester (Henry Joseph Samiri) really be the one to make the call on this? He’s still a little boy, and he was charged with making a decision that perhaps the adults around him should have made. Soap Hub asked B&B fans if Douglas should be allowed to live with Steffy. Here’s how fans feel about the situation.

Many of you, just under 28%, say that yes, Steffy should be allowed to raise Douglas — if she has room. Let’s face it. Steffy’s already got two kids — Kelly and Hayes. She is also busy running Forrester Creations and making sure Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) stays away from her family. Is now the right time for Steffy to take this on? Maybe not.

Almost an equal number (but a little bit over 28%) say that no, Douglas should not be allowed to live with Steffy. Would the judge have signed off on Douglas opting to run away with the circus? Probably not. In trying to take the pressure off Douglas, Hope (Annika Noelle) and Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) both lost out on raising their son. He truly should be living with one of them.

What a Bold and the Beautiful View!
The rest of you, 44%, say that Douglas made the right choice. The little boy did not want to hurt the feelings of either his mother or his father, so he wisely chose neither of them, it appears. If he goes to live with Steffy and Finn, he’ll have two instant siblings — Kelly and Hayes. Also, both his parents can visit him on neutral territory. Additionally, Steffy and Finn have that awesome view of the ocean. Thomas didn’t even have a regular residence. The cabin that Hope and Liam (Scott Clifton) live in is too small!
