But Brooke’s heart is broken in light of Ridge Forrester’s (Thorsten Kaye) decision to walk out on their marriage. Brooke needs her questions about why Ridge did what he did answered before she can move on — she doesn’t need to respond to Deacon’s invitation to be his bride. Later? Again, maybe. But not now. Brooke’s belief in love has been shattered. Deacon may want to pick up the pieces, but Brooke isn’t ready to move on just yet.
Deacon Sharpe Will Say, ‘Oh, Sheila!’
Forget about the timing related to Brooke’s heartbreak, say 25% of you. You think Deacon should not have proposed to Brooke because Sheila Carter (Kimberlin Brown), Deacon’s current roommate and occasional lover, is not going to want to let the bad boy leave her anytime soon. Sheila is very territorial. She’s not going to want to share Deacon with anyone!

The rest of you, about 24%, say that no, Deacon hasn’t lost his mind by proposing to Brooke. He’s a man in love, and, if nothing else, his proposing to Brooke sends the message that she is desired and loved. Ridge may be willing to walk out on Brooke, but Deacon and other men would be only too happy to spend the rest of their lives with the blonde beauty.
