Soap Hub Performer of the Week for The Bold and the Beautiful: Katrina Bowden

 Comments

Characters on The Bold and the Beautiful have committed heinous acts and are most always often forgiven, eventually. Remember Stephanie lying about her heart attack? Sally (OG and 2.0) stealing designs? Brooke purposely hiding Caroline’s letter?

Katrina Bowden: Performer of the Week

Well, it took a while for the Logan clan to come around on Flo (Katrina Bowden) for her after-the-fact role in the kidnapping of baby Beth a few years ago, but Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang), Donna (Jennifer Gareis), and Katie (Heather Tom) finally let their walls down and let Flo into the fold, touching the late Storm’s (William deVry) daughter deeply.

For her emotional performances as the newest Logan, Soap Hub bestows Performer of the Week honors upon Katrina Bowden.

The Logans have not only presented Flo with a job at Forrester, but they also presented her with legal documents, drawn up by Forrester Creations’ COO Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor), inviting her to accept the surname Logan, legally making her a member of the family.

The gesture partially left Flo speechless, but Bowden didn’t need words to express her emotions. The actress played Flo’s joy in her reactions, in her soulful eyes, captured in camera close-ups.

Those classy Logan sisters, despite Brooke’s history with Shauna (Denise Richards), invited Flo’s mom to the meeting so that Flo could discuss with her mom taking a last name other than hers. Shauna’s blessing for Flo to take her dad’s name brought tears to her eyes (and ours).

“Yes, I would love to be Flo Logan,” Bowden tearfully emoted. “Just know that I…I will live up to the Logan name. I will do everything in my power to make you proud, forever.”

Flo Logan bolted over to see Wyatt (Darin Brooks), riding high on her big family news. She shared with Wyatt the gesture the Logans made to her and how happy that made her. Next, Bowden was called upon to show just how much joy a character can express after her longtime love proposed marriage. (Kudos to Brooks for delivering a heartfelt proposal as Wyatt asked Flo to be his bride.)

No sooner had Flo gotten used to the idea that her name would be Flo Fulton Logan, she learned that she was going to become Flo Fulton Logan Spencer (giving The Young and the Restless’ Abby Newman-Abbott Chancellor, played by Melissa Ordway, a run for her money for having one of the longer current names in soaps).

A famous soap scribe once said that if an actor can properly express joy, all the other emotions will follow when the situation calls for that to happen. If that’s the case, we’ve no doubt that Bowden, who amply expressed Flo’s happiness, can bring to life any story the show asks her to perform. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS.
