Soap fans love a great, epic love story so Brooke accepting Ridge’s marriage proposal was a great holiday treat on The Bold and the Beautiful. Given their last disastrous near-wedding in Australia, it’s likely that this attempt will be successful.
But has this reunion between Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) made you happy? Or are fans looking to “re-gift” the news of the couple getting engaged? Again. Soap Hub asked B&B fans to weigh in on this. Read on for the results!
Marry Me, Bill
Like the name of the 5th Dimension song, Brooke wanted to say nothing more than “Marry Me, Bill” earlier this year after her engagement to Ridge ended after she saw him kissing Quinn.
Soon, Brooke convinced herself that Bill was the man for her since she couldn’t trust Ridge. But she quickly learned she didn’t know Bill at all! For this reason, the majority of you, just over 50% of you, aren’t happy about Ridge and Brooke’s engagement.
Unforgettable
The rest of you, a little over 49%, are thrilled that Brooke and Ridge are engaged once more. You don’t seem to mind that Brooke’s accepted another man’s ring while she’s still legally wed to Bill. And why not?
Brooke’s already emotionally detached herself from Bill. She’s fairly certain Ridge isn’t going to be doing any more lip-locking with his stepmother. Brooke’s always loved Ridge and now she’s going to become his wife.
Take Five
Perhaps, it’d be best for Brooke to not be with any man for a while. She accepted Ridge’s proposal knowing he’d hurt her before, choosing other women (Caroline, Taylor) and even lying to Brooke that he still cared for her to break up her and Thorne. Running back to Bill without properly grieving losing Ridge may not have been the best move.
And now she’s turning back to Ridge before processing why she married Bill, who has a dark side. Brooke would probably learn a lot about herself if she spent time alone. Or dated a man with whom she has no history. Just a thought.
