Why Stephen Logan - and Lucy - Need to Stick Around on B&B!

When The Bold and the Beautiful commenced in 1987, it was established that Stephen Logan had walked out on his family. He made up for lost time when he showed up with his girlfriend Lucy with him to support Brooke Logan just when she needed him the most!

Stephen Logan — Daddy Dearest

Patrick Duffy took over the role of B&B’s Stephen Logan from Robert Pine (best known for his portrayal of Sgt. Joseph Getraer on CHiPs) back in 2006. He stuck around for a few years during which time he reconnected with his daughters and romanced Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) sister Pam Douglas (Alley Mills). In 2011, Duffy left B&B to revive his role as Bobby Ewing on the Dallas revival but now, he’s available to remain with B&B for a while and we think he should!

Generations

Soaps are all about families so, it’d be nice to have Stephen and Lucy (Linda Purl, Duffy’s real-life girlfriend) stick around to help remind viewers that parental figures can not only support other characters but drive the story, too. There was a rivalry between Stephen and Eric Forrester (John McCook) back in the day as Beth Logan (Nancy Burnett) loved Eric but married Stephen after Eric wed Stephanie. Stephen felt he could never measure up to Eric so he left. Sure, Eric’s with Donna Logan (Jennifer Gareis) right now but what if he took a fancy to Lucy?

Stephen Logan – Spencer Publications

If Stephen sticks around, there’s a perfect place for him to find employment should he need or want to work. After Stephanie lured him back to Los Angeles all those years ago, she enlisted Bill Spencer Sr. (Jim Storm) to give Stephen a job at Spencer Publications. She wasn’t being totally magnanimous – she later urged Bill to transfer Stephen to Paris (so that Beth would go with him, of course!) With Stephen back at Forrester, he’d likely come into conflict with former son-in-law Bill Spencer, Jr. (Don Diamont), who is now running the media empire.
