Donna Logan could have easily ruffled some feathers on The Bold and the Beautiful when she unveiled the new portrait over the Forrester mansion fireplace at a recent family gathering. However, the savvy Logan sister chose just the right subject to be in the picture that’s hung in the place of honor in the landmark B&B set.
The Bold and the Beautiful – King Eric
For years, there was a mirror over the Forrester mansion fireplace. That was replaced with a portrait of late family matriarch Stephanie Forrester (Susan Flannery). La Steph was gone, but having the character still be there, keeping a watchful eye on her loved ones via the portrait, was a reminder that death ends a life but not a relationship.
Briefly, Rick’s wife, Maya Forrester (Karla Mosley), had her portrait, and, more recently, Quinn Fuller Forrester (Rena Sofer) had hers there. When Stephanie’s sister Pamela Douglas (Alley Mills) tried to replace Quinn’s portrait with Stephanie’s, all heck broke loose!
Picture Perfect
It would have been logical for Donna (Jennifer Gareis), Eric’s current love and former wife, to have commissioned a portrait of herself now that she’s back as the patriarch’s lover. Steffy Forrester Finnegan (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was clearly miffed that not only was Donna presumably putting up her own photo but that she was doing it so soon after she and Eric rekindled their affair.

Donna, however, played it smart and sensitive. She showed that she truly cares about Eric by revealing that the portrait going up on the wall was his — not hers. And that’s appropriate. It’s Eric’s family house. He and Donna aren’t remarried yet, but even if and when they are, it should be Eric’s image there. He’s the dad, the supportive shoulder, and he is the one everyone goes to when they need support. Plus, this gives Steffy one less reason to disapprove of Donna.
