Soap Opera Casting For The Week Of March 21, 2022

Here’s a list of the top exit and entrance news from all four daytime dramas. Find out if any of your favorite performers from yesteryear are returning to the shows you follow, or if any new actors or actresses have been cast in contract, recurring, or day player roles.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Two bigwigs from The Bold and the Beautiful’s past are back for a special episode devoted to Katherine Kelly Lang’s Brooke Logan Forrester. Jack Wagner returns as Nick Marone, and Winsor Harmon resurfaces as Thorne Forrester on Thursday, March 24. Windsor played Thorne on and off from 1996 to 2016, while Wagner (ex-Frisco, GH) portrayed Nick from 2003 to 2012.

Hollis W. Chambers turns up as Paul the Il Giardino bartender on Monday, March 21. The following day, Tuesday, March 22, Joy Corrigan appears as Forrester Creation model Rebeka.

General Hospital

On the General Hospital front, James Patrick Stuart is back on set filming scenes as Valentin Cassadine. The actor, who had been off working on the new Disney series, The Villains of Valley View, reported the news on Twitter. Look for Valentin to surface on the soap opera in a few weeks.

David Lautman is back as Smoltz, The Intruder reporter delving into the sex tape scandal involving Cameron Webber (William Lipton) and Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy). He last appeared in February.

Sydney Mikayla wrapped her run as Trina Robinson, Jossyln’s (Eden McCoy) best friend, on March 17. The actress, who began playing Trina in 2019, left the soap to pursue her college studies at UCLA. The role has already been recast with daytime newcomer Tabyana Ali, who will begin airing later this month.

Two actors featured in Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) and Felicia Jones (Kristina Wagner) sleuthing in Austria have finished their stints on the soap opera: Sewell Whitney, the records’ keeper who assisted the two women; and Paul Ganus, Victor Cassadine’s (Charles Shaughnessy) henchman Kurt who committed suicide by swallowing a cyanide capsule.

The Young and the Restless

The Young and the Restless welcomes back a daytime star from yesteryear. Julia Montgomery, who portrayed Samantha Vernon on the soap opera One Life to Live from 1977 to 1980, is set to play Tanya. The character is a Los Angeles real estate agent, which hits close to home for Montgomery, who actually has a real estate license.

Days of our Lives

Last but not least, Zach Tinker has inked a contract with Days of our Lives. The actor debuted as Sonny Kiriakis in the Peacock special, Days of our Lives: Beyond Salem.

Michael Varde wrapped up his two-day gig as Frank, the drug dealer who sold heroin to TR Coates (William Christian). The character was killed at the hands of the nefarious movie producer.
