The Bold and the Beautiful star Don Diamont has been with the half-hour show for over a decade. The actor has been bringing to life “Dollar” Bill Spencer since 2009.
Don Diamont Celebrates 12 Years
The fan-favorite, who won the Soap Hub Award for Favorite Actor BB last summer, didn’t have to travel far to get to BB. He’d been working across the hall at sister soap The Young and the Restless since 1985 as gardener-turned-executive Brad Carlton. While in Genoa City, Brad romanced and/or wed Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), Ashley Abbott (Brenda Epperson; Eileen Davidson), and Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) among others.
After nearly 25 years of playing Brad’s story on YR, the character met an icy end, drowning while saving Noah who’d fallen into a freezing lake. BB scooped up the actor to infuse new life into the half-hour soap. Revealed as the never before-mentioned son of the late Bill Spencer, Sr. (Jim Storm), Diamont’s Bill assumed the role of show antagonist, butting heads with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) and falling for Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang).
Just as Brad was at YR, Diamont’s Bill is quite the ladies’ man. In addition to romancing Brooke, he’s also been romantically attached to Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) and, prior to making the BB scene, Bill shared romps with Quinn (Rena Sofer) and Shauna (Denise Richards).

Bill became a “helicopter parent” when it came to his son’s love life. He trapped Hope (Annika Noelle) in a gondola so that Liam (Scott Clifton) could marry Steffy. Bill also kept Katie (Heather) prisoner in a tower to keep her from revealing his schemes to Liam.
Alas, Bill’s attraction to Brooke caused great harm to Katie on more than one occasion. Sure, she encouraged her husband and sister-in-law to hook up, but Katie was suffering from post-partum depression at the time, having given birth to their son Will (Finnegan George).
A few years ago, Bill was obsessed with leveling the building that was home to Spectra Fashions so he could erect a skyscraper in his honor. Bill blew up Spectra Fashions not knowing that Liam and Sally (Courtney Hope) were still inside the structure. Currently, Bill’s moving heaven and earth to keep Liam from confessing his role in the accidental vehicular homicide of Vinny (Joe LoCicero). He’s also hoping that Katie will give him (another) chance!
Earlier this year, Diamont returned to YR but not as Brad; he visited Genoa City as Bill in order to make sure Sally wasn’t going to give Wyatt any additional problems!
