Bobbie Eakes is best known for starring as Macy Alexander on The Bold and the Beautiful but she also made quite a splash over on ABC’s defunct soap, All My Children as Krystal Carey.
Along with her work on soaps, Eakes has also appeared on shows such as The Wonder Years, Full House, Cheers, and 21 Jump Street. From her days as a pageant queen to being the lead singer of a band, here are five fast facts about the former BB actress.
Who Is Bobby Eakes?
Eakes was born on July 25 in Warner Robins, Georgia as the youngest of five daughters. She grew up in an Air Force family, so she moved around a few times while growing up. However, her parents returned to Warner Robins when she was in sixth grade. This is where Eakes started to become interested in both singing and acting.
When she was just 17, Eakes won the title of Miss Junior Civitan International, which was a contest judged on community service and leadership skills. She became Miss Georgia Teen and went on to be the first runner-up in Miss Teen USA. She then became Miss Georgia in 1982 and placed in the top 10 at the Miss America pageant in 1983.
She’s Always the Lead (Singer)
After competing in the Miss America pageant, Eakes went on to be the lead in two cover bands, the Reporters and Ecstasy. She then went on to replace the lead singer in an all-girl rock band called Big Trouble. The group released an album and performed at a festival in Europe.
The Bold and the Beautiful Duo
While she was starring on The Bold and the Beautiful, Eakes recorded two CDs with her co-star, Jeff Trachta, who was playing Thorne Forrester at the time. The records were successful and the duo toured for fans in Europe and South Africa.
Her First, Their Last
Eakes first TV role was on the very last episode of pop culture phenomenon, Laverne & Shirley, which was on for seven seasons. The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
