A Critic’s Review of The Bold and the Beautiful: Defining Crazy

The Bold and the Beautiful Critic's Review
 Comments

When it comes to The Bold and the Beautiful, every fan has their own opinion – and Soap Hub is no different. For five days we sat and watched the good, the bad, and everything in between, and now we offer you a handy review, and a cheeky critique, of BB’s week that was.

The Bold and the Beautiful: A Critic’s Week In Review

Zoe (Kiara Barnes) has always been crazy. Not, “haha funny crazy,” but worryingly CRAZY. Like, travel to another country in order to stalk a boy who just wasn’t that into her, crazy. Like, anonymously bully a teenage girl over the Internet, crazy. Like, frame an innocent woman for her crimes crazy. Like, involve herself in a baby-switching scam, crazy.

So, it should come as absolutely no surprise that Zoe crazily confronted Shauna (Denise Richards) and demanded explicit details of her “affair” with Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor). Nor should it worry anyone that she lobbied threats against Carter’s mistress, and flat out called her liar for saying that the sex she and Carter had didn’t mean anything.

What did surprise, however, was the out-of-left-field warning shot fired by Paris (Diamond White) in Shauna’s direction. Though we will say that the look exchanged between a clearly bemused, but not in the least bit threatened Shauna and Quinn (Rena Sofer) was absolutely priceless.

Further BB Musings

* Credit where credit’s due. After taking BB to task the previous week for refusing to present more than one arc per week, we were pleasantly surprised to see both the reverberations of the Quarter affair and Liam’s (Scott Clifton) confession to Vinny’s (Joe LoCicero) death getting equal screen time.

What do you think? Post a comment!

* Hope to Liam: “You had an accident. Your father is the one who turned it into a crime.” Wow, leave it to Hope (Annika Noelle) to boil weeks  – and we do mean WEEKS – of storyline down to such a succinct, and undeniably true observation.

* Oh dear. Oh deary, dear, dear, dear, dear. Thomas (Matthew Atkinson) now has Brooke’s (Katherine Kelly Lang) – pending – approval. Cue his next breakdown in five, four, three, two…

* We’ve refrained from commenting on the *ahem* distinctive wardrobe being donned by the denizens of BB – knowing full well that Soap Twitter and our beloved readers would handle the job for us.

However, we must ask: Did Zoe’s latest ensemble remind anyone else of the old nursery rhyme, “Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary, How Does Your Garden Grow?” The Bold and the Beautiful (BB) airs weekdays on CBS. Check your local listings for airtimes.
