Tomas wants to get out of Bill’s law firm while the getting out is good. He sees the writing on the wall, so he hands Bill a letter of resignation. Next week’s Beyond the Gates also features a daughter who is seriously upset with her mother. And it seems like Vernon and Dani are in cahoots, and Anita’s not having it. Here’s what happens in BTG’s weekly video preview for April 6-10, 2026.
Key Takeaways
- Tomas quits Bill’s firm, but will Bill accept Tomas’s resignation?
- Naomi and Jacob spend their anniversary apart as his dangerous mission continues.
- Anita calls out Vernon and Dani, while a mother-daughter clash erupts.
Next Week on Beyond the Gates
Tomas Resigns
Tomas (Alex Alegria) immediately started looking for a new gig after Hayley (Marquita Goings) attacked his reputation at her husband’s law firm. It didn’t take him long to get another gig. A full partnership for a law firm that doesn’t quite play in Bill’s league. But Tomas must feel it’s a good move regardless.
“My letter of resignation,” Tomas says as he drops the letter on Bill’s desk. “This because of Hayley?” Bill asks. And Tomas’s response is short and sweet. “Yes.” Will Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) accept Tomas’s resignation?
A Couple Separated for Their Anniversary
It’s Naomi and Jacob’s anniversary. And while the two reconnected on Easter, they are spending their anniversary apart. “I am terrified that he won’t come home,” Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) says. With each day Jacob’s undercover op lasts, the stronger her fears become. Meanwhile, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) and Smitty (Mike Manning) meet up out in the field.
‘I’m casting a wide net with this investigation, Smitty. I need to catch a whale,” Jacob explains. “Or an impaler,” Smitty says. The Impaler is possibly THE big bad of this plasma ring, and that’s who Jacob is hoping to take down.
Dupree Drama
Apparently, getting the original Dreamgirl, Jennifer Holliday, for Easter doesn’t earn Vernon (Clifton Davis) any bonus points. Anita (Tamara Tunie, BTG’s March Performer of the Month) knows he and Dani (Karla Mosley) are up to something, and she would like to know what it is. “Stop right there, Vernon Dupree,” Anita calls out. “You must think I am Boo Boo the fool.”
Marcel Keeps Talking About His Boat
While Ted (Keith D. Robinson) will always be the man that Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) wants, she’s okay with having shady detective Marcel Malone (Darryl W. Handy) in her life. Nothing’s serious, however, especially if he keeps talking about his retirement boat. “Sheila’s the only woman that doesn’t drive me nuts,” he claims.
Leslie doesn’t wait for him to say “present company excluded.” She says it for him. He then tells her that she drives him crazy. But the look on his face makes it seem like he loves that about her.
Mother/Daughter Conflict
Finally, the relationship between Samantha (Najah Jackson) and June (Jasmine Burke) takes a turn. Samantha is suddenly over her mom. “Can you just stop thinking about yourself and just be there for your kids? Is that too much to ask?” Usually, Samantha compliments her mother on the words of wisdom she’s shared.
What does June do that causes her daughter to react this way? Or is this blow-up all about the pressure Samanatha has been feeling lately?
