It looks like we’re finally about to be introduced to the matriarch of the Hawthorne family on the next Beyond the Gates. Thursday’s spoilers focus on Izaiah defending Eva to his mother. Meanwhile, it’s time for another Leslie and Vernon showdown as Leslie confronts the Dupree patriarch, most likely over the shutdown of her shouse construction. Here’s a preview of what to expect on March 26, 2026.
Key Takeaways
- Izaiah defends Eva to his mother, setting up a tense family clash.
- Leslie confronts Vernon again, reigniting their escalating feud.
- Kat and Ted reach a turning point, potentially opening the door to reconciliation.
In Defense Of
Ever since Izaiah (Lami) started dating Eva (Ambyr Michelle), he’s had to deal with warnings and people wondering what he’s thinking. But he’s never had to answer to his mom about her. Well, that’s about to change when Izaiah defends Eva to his mother.
This means we will not only discover how much Darlene (the police dispatcher) knows about who her son is dating, but also how much she knows about Eva’s mother. Plus, we’ll see whether Izaiah takes his mother’s words to heart.
However, Izaiah is very serious about Eva. To the point that he isn’t taking her mom’s interference and manipulations seriously. This mother and son may have a problem sooner rather than later.
Another Shouse Showdown
This isn’t the time for Vernon (Clifton Davis) to be involved in a major conflict. His priority is his wife, and she’s in the battle of her life. Her faith and her spirit have taken a toll, and she needs all the support she can get.
This won’t stop Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) from confronting Vernon. She must not have liked the way their last conversation ended. If you recall, Vernon got up in Leslie’s face and let her know what’s what about this shouse construction he got shut down. At least temporarily, anyway.
But Leslie hasn’t shown a lick of empathy regarding Anita’s cancer. And we expect the same on Thursday. She sees that her dream isn’t being achieved. She has no problem going scorched-earth to remove the obstacle. Let’s see who wins round two. Vernon definitely won round one.
A Miracle in Fairmont Crest?
While Leslie and Vernon stir things up, Kat’s interaction with Ted (Keith D. Robinson) takes a different tone. And for once, it isn’t bitterness and resentment. According to the weekly teasers, Kat (Colby Muhammad) and Ted finally come to an understanding. For the better part of the year, their father/daughter bond has been broken.
Leslie blew up the Richardson family’s world, and while everybody else has moved on, Kat’s grudge-holding reached epic levels. She couldn’t be in the same room as Eva and Leslie without verbally throwing down with them. And her disappointment in her father couldn’t be contained.
But maybe Kat realizes that life is short, especially after seeing her grandmother suffer. It’s possible that she and her dad can acknowledge the pain that exists between them and overcome it. And who knows, they may be able to forge an even stronger relationship.
In Other DMV News
Ashley (Jen Jacob) delivers some good news, hopefully to the Duprees, who need it right about now. Meanwhile, Jacob (Jibre Hordges) pumps Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) for info. During Tuesday’s episode, the police detective did get Grayson to talk a little bit. But not enough. Will Jacob be more successful this time around?
Finally, Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) gets a shocking request. Is this coming from Anita (Tamara Tunie) and the Duprees? He is the one who figured out how to shut down Leslie’s shouse construction. So maybe this request has something to do with the alleged monstrosity Leslie’s having built across the street from Anita and Vernon’s mansion.
