The Clash
Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) knows that his sister is The Impaler. He also knows that Detective Jacob Hawthorne (Jibre Hordges) is determined to find whoever this Impaler person is. He has made it his mission. After all, his best friend is dead because of the plasma ring.
Now that Joey knows Heather (Ashley Jones, who calls her role “trippy”) is the one behind the criminal operation, he must be 1) happy that Heather allegedly headed back to London, away from the DMV. And 2) determined to make sure Jacob gets nowhere near his sister. That might be why Joey and Elon (Malachi Malik) clash over Jacob on Monday.
Even though Joey and Elon have been reluctant allies in the past, they are on different sides of this matter. Elon is proud of the job his son did going undercover. He helped cause serious damage to the ring’s operation in the DMV. He’s not going to let Joey walk in and try to undo any of the good work that his son has done.

While Kat (Colby Nixon) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) fight through their surgeries, the entire family waits in agony. It may have taken some time, but Kat stepped up and did what needed to be done. She got tested. And with an assist from Anita (Tamara Tunie), she decided to donate some of her liver to Eva, the person she has been battling for the last year and some change.
While the two undergo their operations, the Duprees, Thomases, Richardsons, and Hawthornes wait. It will undoubtedly be the most painful wait of their lives.
The Results
Remember when this all started so innocently with Martin’s political fundraiser? The congressman needed that high-profile event to help boost his reelection chances. But Martin (Brandon Claybon) did a great thing by deciding the evening’s proceeds would go to tornado relief efforts.
That was the day before the primary. And now Martin is at the hospital waiting for word about his sisters. Something he does get word on are the results of the election. He finds out if he’ll be on the ballot come November. This is just the first step in his reelection bid. Did the voters come through for Martin?
The Peace
Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) recently extended an olive branch to Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) because of what she and her daughter are going through. And Leslie has been attempting to lead with grace, although that hasn’t always worked. On Monday, it’s Anita’s turn to extend an olive branch to her nemesis.
After the tornado hit the country club, Leslie wrapped up Anita’s twisted ankle, even though Anita was reluctant to let Leslie put her hands on her. But at the hospital, with Kat and Eva fighting for their lives, their families are going through a nightmare. And peace, despite being toxic enemies, is the best thing for everyone.
