Ever since Dani and Andre got together, they’ve had their issues and insecurities. But their biggest source of contention has to be Dani’s ex, Bill Hamilton. Bill’s unapologetic about his latest slip of the tongue. And Andre called him out on it. In the next episode of Beyond the Gates, airing Monday, April 20, spoilers include Dani’s surprising confrontation with Andre.
Key Takeaways
- Dani confronts Andre after tensions rise over Bill’s boundary-crossing behavior.
- Leslie and Vanessa form an unexpected bond as their personal ties unravel.
- Smitty brings a new lead while Derek and Ashley clash yet again.
- Chelsea rejects her mother’s offer.
Does Dani Have a Problem With Andre Setting Boundaries?
On Monday, Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) turns down her mother’s offer. But the bigger news is that Dani (Karla Mosley) confronts Andre (Sean Freeman) about his run-in with Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett, who says he’s nothing like this character). The one where Bill basically called Andre a young whippersnapper. And Andre referred to Bill as “old school.”
Their conversation focused on Bill referring to Dani as “baby” during a brief phone call. However, he called her the term of endearment right in front of Hayley (Marquita Goings) and Naomi (Arielle Prepetit).
The whole thing didn’t even register with Dani or Bill. The faux pas for others was simply natural for them. After all, they were married for decades. And even though Dani and Andre had just explained to Naomi that they weren’t the jealous type, maybe that’s why Dani needs to talk to her husband about his chat with Bill.
She may need to know that they are on the same page. He did lay down the law with Bill despite his supposedly not being the jealous type. But he’s attempted to set boundaries with Bill before. Unfortunately, they never really register with Bill. Does Dani have an issue with Andre talking to Bill about the slip of the tongue?
Leslie and Vanessa Have an Impromptu Bonding Session
Meanwhile, Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) bond. Leslie’s a pariah in the town. Vanessa suddenly finds herself on a different page than Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix). And as long as she is with Joey (Jon Lindstrom), she will probably live life on the periphery. She’s isolating herself more and more from her friends and family.
Is this the beginning of a beautiful friendship? Will Leslie and Vanessa become the newest besties in town?
Smitty Attempts Redemption with a New Lead
Smitty (Mike Manning) has a new lead to share with Jacob (Jibre Hordges), which is a good thing since he royally messed up when he hacked into the hospital records using Nicole’s laptop. He lost major points with Jacob. In fact, the detective had to spell things out for his friend and partner in this investigation.
Yes, Smitty was responsible for the tip that started this whole thing. However, Jacob said that he was the one calling the shots. And he demanded that Smitty stop going rogue. Let’s hope this new lead the investigative reporter comes up with is the clue they need to break this case wide open. Naomi won’t be able to handle being separated from her husband much longer.
Another Derek and Ashley Showdown
Good thing Derek (Ben Gavin) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) are no longer engaged because these two can’t stop arguing. Derek has no business butting into Ashley’s life, but he has a bad feeling about Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso). And he can never hold back when he has an opinion about his ex or her love life.
So look for Derek and Ashley to have a heated exchange about Ashley’s current boyfriend. Grayson’s actions should raise a million red flags with the nurse, but she seems to look past them all.
