Mona thinks she can beat Joey Armstrong in poker. She knows he owns the whole casino. Right? Actually, Mona isn’t just a devoted church-goer. She has a great superpower. She makes things happen. Next week on Beyond the Gates, she hustles Joey for what she feels is a very good reason. Will she succeed? We have faith in her. Here’s your breakdown for the August 3-7 video preview.

Key Takeaways

  • Mona challenges Joey to a high-stakes poker game.
  • Hayley’s unexpected visit puts Naomi and Chelsea on edge.
  • Nicole’s complicated love life becomes increasingly public.

Next Week on Beyond the Gates: August 3-7, 2026

Mona and Joey Put on Their Best Poker Face

The video preview starts off strong with two unlikely opponents: Mona Wilson (Karan Kendrick) versus Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom). “What are you playing for?” Joey asks.

That’s when Mona hits him with a doozy. “Randy Parker’s soul,” she states with a touch of defiance. Randy (Maurice P. Kerry), of course, is Joey’s right-hand man. And Mona doesn’t like the company Randy’s keeping. She thinks he can do better.

But does Randy want his soul saved? Nicole’s house manager and administrative assistant doesn’t know what Randy is capable of, and she better never find out.

Dani (Karla Mosley) doesn’t hold back. “It looks like Hayley’s cheating on Bill,” she relays to her mom. And Anita immediately tells her daughter and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli), “My massage can wait. Come!” Anita (Tamara Tunie) either wants to talk somewhere more private or have a confrontation. This could go either way.

Meanwhile, at Naomi’s place (where we’re finally seeing more than just hers and Jacob’s bedroom), an interloper shows up to spread anything but goodness and cheer. Speak of the devil, and she shall appear,” Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) snidely says. “Hayley, what are you doing here?” Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) inquires.

Nicole’s Love Life is Messy Whether She Wants to Admit It or Not

For a while now, it seems that Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) has only had eyes for Kial. But Carlton (Robert Christophere Riley) is back in the mix. Or he’s trying to be anyway. “You can rest in my arms,” Carlton suggests to Nicole, who has other plans. “Would you be okay with a rain check?” The next thing we see is Carlton witnessing Nicole in Kial’s arms, leaving the hospital.

And then, according to the weekly spoilers, it’s Leslie who puts Nicole’s messy love life on blast. “Daddy is getting laid by darling Nikki at the Comfort Inn & Suites.”

Tyrell’s Getting Crankier the Closer He Gets to Jessica Leaving for UCLA

There’s college drama in the Smith-Richardson household. Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) haven’t seen much of Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) because he’s been spending as much time as possible with his. girfriend. Next week, Tyrell slows down long enough for viewers to get a glimpse of him. And it won’t be a pleasant conversation.

“You’re not half-assing your way through college,” Martin insists, and that sentence seriously triggers Tyrell. “I’m tired of listening to what everybody’s telling me to. do. I’m 18. MY BAD.” What can Martin and Smitty do to help their son?

Music Isn’t Striking the Right Chord With Anita

And right after Tyrell’s tantrum, the action cuts to Anita at the piano. She may have a tough time reconnecting with either music or her voice. Vernon (Clifton Davis), of course, looks worried for his wife.
