Weekly Recaps: September 14-18, 2026
Monday, September 14 – Episode #367
Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) were at home when they discussed being almost empty nesters and how they would have more privacy with Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) at school. Smitty noted that he would have time to resume his investigation into the Impaler.
Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) started at the country club with her father. They talked about his consulting work, which had required Vernon (Clifton Davis) to spend more time at Banneker, which he didn’t mind since Tyrell was a student there now. Once Martin showed up, Nicole left and headed to her parents’ home to clock some time with her mother.
Anita (Tamara Tunie) still had issues with her voice. She even researched to see if chemo could damage vocal cords. But Nicole figured out it wasn’t something physical holding Anita back. It was psychological. Meanwhile, Vernon and Martin had their own profound conversation during which Vernon admitted to his grandson that if he lost his upcoming reelection, it would be okay. He had his family and the people that he loves. Martin’s mind started to open to it.
Tomas (Alex Alegria) and Kat (Colby Nixon) reconnected at Uptown, and Tomas groveled a bit. He acted like he knew he had been in the wrong. He said he took his work frustrations out on Kat, and that was wrong. And that he would make it up to her, which meant a fancy lobster dinner and shopping until they dropped — courtesy of his credit card.
At the precinct, Darlene (Monique Mosee) helped Jacob (Jibre Hordges) out with his case. But also reminded her son that he needed to eat, and most importantly. pay attention to his wife. As for Naomi (Arielle Prepetit), she was at the hospital where she filled Madison (Kenjah) in about the particulars of the case.
They also talked about Naomi and Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) working together, which was something Naomi was eager to bring to an end. She wasn’t so comfortable with the fact that her dad was the type of lawyer with loose morals. Later, Naomi and Jacob met up at Uptown, where they reconnected. And they didn’t end up talking to Kat and Tomas.
Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Smitty had their own chat at Orphey Gene’s. He told her that Jacob questioned him about Lia Whitmore’s death. Chelsea mentioned he may want to focus on his sweatshop-scandal series. It was less dangerous, after all. Then Chelsea went to the hospital to catch up with Madison, while Smitty went home to his husband. Martin told Smitty about Vernon’s aha moment regarding the election.
Bill grilled his wife about Randy/Sammy (Maurice P. Kerry) and why she felt the need to pick him to rush her to the hospital when she was in trouble. And he asked her a couple of times whether she knew Randy before. She denied it and explained that she related to him because he was an outsider too. And that she was lonely. And that he was seeing Mona (Karan Kendrick), so he had nothing to worry about. Hayley (Marquita Goings) did her best to try to talk her way out of the doghouse. Ultimately, he said he believed her story, but when they hugged, the look on Bill’s face said something different.
Tuesday, September 15 – Episode #368
Hayley met up with Randy and told him that Bill was out for blood. He now knew that his real name was Randy and that he was dating Mona, which Randy didn’t appreciate. Joey (Jon Lindstrom) summoned Randy to the casino, where he connected with Joey…and Bill. Randy fed Bill the same story Hayley told her husband. And he admitted that he wasn’t dating Mona.
Nicole and Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) clashed over Heather (Ashley Jones). Nicole let Vanessa know that she still didn’t get good vibes from Heather. Vanessa thought Heather was harmless. And she thought that maybe Nicole had an issue because Heather slept with Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley). Nicole assured her bestie that that was not the case. Vanessa gave in and said she won’t turn her back on Heather.
Ted (Keith D. Robinson) confronted Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) at Orphey Gene’s, where she was sharing a meal with Marcel (Darryl W. Handy). The plastic surgeon was livid that she sabotaged his first meeting with Shanice’s brothers. He didn’t understand why. He had no feelings for Leslie. And he wasn’t going to hide his past from Shanice’s brothers either.
Later, Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) headed to Orphey Gene’s, where she confronted Leslie. She wondered why she would spend time sabotaging Ted and staying obsessed with him when she had a good man in Marcel right there. Leslie was a little miffed that Marcel didn’t defend her. But he thought Shanice was making sense.
After Bill left the casino, he stopped by Nicole’s to talk to Mona and asked her about Randy. Nicole came home while they were talking. Back at Bill’s law firm, Naomi and Tomas teamed up to find something that would help them win the lawsuit against Madison. And thanks to Tomas, they did. Hayley wasn’t so impressed. But when Bill returned to his office, he was.
Before Heather popped in at the casino, she was in her hotel room on the phone, arranging some deal. Whatever it was, she meant business.
Wednesday, September 16 – Episode #369
Anita counseled Kat, who told her about her business woes and, more importantly, her boyfriend woes. Anita advised her granddaughter to reevaluate her relationship. After that, Kat clammed up and headed over to Uptown, where she spotted Smitty, who was excited about his articles still having such an impact. He told Kat that the podcast that had reached out to him previously still wanted him to appear.
Anita found out from Devon (Young and the Restless‘ Bryton James) that Leslie had tried to change The Articulette’s studio time. So she summoned Leslie, who was hanging out with Eva (Ambyr Michelle). At the country club, she basically told Anita that she couldn’t trust them to tell her the right date, hence the call. Anita responded that that was a page out of her book. Anita would be true to her word.
Later, Anita gave Samantha (Najah Jackson) some incentive to keep up her grades for her senior year. She would fund her graduation trip. Eva had told Samantha to savor life after they talked about Samantha’s Tokyo trip being canceled. At the precinct, Izaiah (Lami) surprised Darlene with a second ChelseaKat bag. Izaiah quickly left after Elon (Malachi Malik) joined them, however.
Vanessa and Randy talked about Doug (Jason Graham). She finally admitted that the night Doug died, she was in Puerto Rico with Joey. And that, yes, she had started her relationship with Joey while Doug was still alive. At the casino, Joey learned that Heather bought a legit business — she was the brand-new owner of Uptown.
Jacob’s investigation took an unexpected turn when Elon told his son about an uncovered video. It showed Smitty meeting with Max (Cris Ruiz), the plasma ring informant, a day before Lia’s death, and Max had slipped Smitty a purple pouch. A pouch was found with Lia (Cecelia Specht) when she died. At Uptown, Heather approached Smitty and introduced herself. She told him that she was Joey’s sister, Heather Armstrong, leaving Smitty stunned.
Thursday, September 17 – Episode #370
Hayley ran into Leslie and Marcel at Orphey Gene’s. Leslie talked about them being allies/besties again. Hayley wanted nothing to do with her. Later, Leslie and Marcel were in her hotel room when she asked him what he saw in her. She wanted to know because she’s always had to chase the men in her life. And Marcel honestly wanted to be with her.
Andre (Sean Freeman) ran into Vernon at the country club. Vernon was happy to see him, and they chatted about Andre and Dani’s time in South Korea. Vernon also wanted to discuss Bill and how Dani’s attention has been divided. Andre mentioned Bill texting Dani while in Seoul.
At the same time, Dani (Karla Mosley) and Anita reconnected. Dani came bearing gifts for her parents. But Anita wanted to know whether she had had contact with Bill while on her trip. Dani admitted they texted, and she told Andre about it. And that Andre was fine about it. Vernon stopped by Bill’s office to put him on blast and make sure he knew that Dani had moved on.
Jacob called up Smitty and said he needed him to come down to the station for more questioning, which immediately concerned Smitty and Martin. Martin made sure Naomi would meet his husband at the precinct. But Smitty didn’t want Martin to be there. After all, he has an election coming up.
Naomi and Jacob once again discussed having to compartmentalize their relationship. For now, they were an attorney and a detective. In the interview room, Jacob asked Smity about Max and the last time he saw him. He also played the video that was time-stamped a day before Lia Whitmore died, and that Smitty was slipped a pouch. It looked like a deep fake.
After that, Naomi said the interview was over. Naomi decided to officially become Smitty’s lawyer, which might make things a little touchy between Jacob and Naomi, but they felt they could handle it. Smitty told Martin that he knew what this was about. The Impaler was attempting to frame him.
Vernon and Anita weren’t happy with their conversations about Bill and Dani. They felt the two were hiding something. At the law firm, Bill tried to focus on work, but he found it difficult to concentrate. In the hall outside his office, Hayley made plans to get her stuff shipped to St. Bart’s. Meanwhile, Bill temporarily passed out at his computer. When he woke up, he got on the phone and told someone that he needed to see them. And it couldn’t wait.
Friday, September 18 – Episode #371
Dani apologized to Andre about Bill. Andre wasn’t happy to have to talk about Bill again. He was fed up with having to talk about her ex. But Dani wanted to tell him that she was done worrying about Bill’s health. Andre knew that wasn’t true, which was fair. So Dani basically said she wouldn’t let it take over her life. That Hayley could be the one to be there for Bill.
At the hospital, Eva overheard Shanice and Ashley (Jen Jacob) talking about Leslie’s latest sabotage. And even heard them refer to her mother as a “crazy wench.” She asked Ted what was up, and he told her what her mom had done. Meanwhile, Monica (Iona Morris Jackson) filled Shanice and Ashley in on the complaint that Bill filed. It involved the time when Ashley had Hayley escorted out of the hospital.
Monia backed them up. She knew that Ashley’s actions were on the up and up. Monica told them to forget about that and to instead concentrate on the fact that she was promoting them. Ashley was now a charge nurse, and Shanice would manage all of the nurses on the floor.
At Uptown, Chelsea was hesitant about doing a full-court social media campaign to promote their upcoming handbag. Kat talked about going live, and when Chelsea suggested alternative methods of promotion, Kat grabbed her phone and went live to spread the word of the date of their next drop.
Kat explained to Izaiah that she did the live to get Chelsea’s competitive juices flowing. He thought Kat was a natural, however. Chelsea opened up to Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso) about her Allison (Brianna Roberts) drama, and he advised her to rely on her inner circle to get through this rough time.
When Ted, Eva, Shanice, and Ashley arrived at Uptown, Kat made herself scarce. And Eva pretended to be okay with spotting Izaiah and Kat talking again. Ashley told Grayson that she got promoted. At Caffeine Fix, Chelsea hinted that Kat had feelings for Izaiah. And she insisted that she felt nothing for him. That they were just friends.
Hayley and Caroline (Ellie Wang) had lunch at the club. Hayley complained about her troubles with the Duprees. Back at the office, Bill couldn’t take it anymore. He had been trying to call and text Dani, but he heard nothing back from her. His health issues continued to act up, but he managed to head over to Dani’s. He arrived right after Andre went out on a run.
Dani didn’t want to let him in, but she did. She told Bill that he shouldn’t be here. Bill said he had no one else to talk to. Dani was still reluctant to talk to him, but she stopped in her tracks when he told her that he thought he was dying.
