Next week is the anniversary of Doug’s death. Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) is, of course, thinking about her late husband. But she’s also talking about him…with Heather (Ashley Jones). “Oh, what are we talking about?” Joey (Jon Lindstrom) innocently asks his partner and his sister. “Doug McBride,” Heather responds, leaving Joey stunned.
After all, she seems to have guessed that her brother had something to do with Doug’s demise. She will not let that go anytime soon.
Ted Challenges Leslie to Want Something More from Life
Ted (Keith D. Robinson) hasn’t been too happy with Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) lately. After all, she resorted to sabotage with Shanice’s brothers. Next week, Ted sounds exasperated with his ex. “Don’t you want something real?” he asks. “You think I’m capable of being a good woman?” she wonders.
Bill Collapses, and Dani Starts Putting the Pieces Together
Bill’s “I think I’m dying” proclamation quickly goes south when the action resumes. “Bill!” Dani (Karla Mosley) screams at her ex-husband, who’s passed out in a chair. And then the scene cuts to Bill (Timon Kyle Durrett) on a gurney back at Garland Memorial.
Dani’s on the case. “I know why your father’s health has been deteriorating,” Dani tells Naomi (Arielle Prepetit), who leans in when she responds, “Okay, what is it?”
“It’s not a what, it’s a who?” Dani explains. Has she really started to connect the dots?
Andre and Joey Have a Heather Problem
While Dani takes care of Bill, Andre (Sean Freeman) mixes it up with Joey Armstrong. Who do they have in common? Why Heather, of course. She has to be at the heart of whatever drama erupts between these two.
“Whatever you decide to do with that phone, just promise me that Dani stays out of it,” Andre tells Joey. He could be referring to the incriminating photo Andre has on his phone. Should Heather be worried?
Dani’s Sleuthing Lands Her in Hot Water
It very much looks like Dani’s breaking into a safe. According to the weekly teasers, after she makes that shocking realization, she will go on the prowl for proof. “Now, let’s see what we’ve got.”
Her sleuthing, as it turns out, won’t be as stealthy as she had hoped. Because in the very next scene, the jig is up. Dani’s parents have questions for her…and Andre is standing there, too.
“Why were you at a police station all night?” Vernon (Clifton Davis) wants to know. “And why did we have to hear about it from Leslie?” Anita (Tamara Tunie) inquires. And from her tone and the expression on her face, she’s not happy to see unpredictable Dani making another appearance.
