The Beyond the Gates spoilers for October 9 reveal that Ted and Shanice do the smart thing and get out of town. There is way too much drama going on in Fairmont Crest, after all. Meanwhile, in the DMV, Vernon shares the ugly truth with Anita. And Vanessa and Joey hear Heather out.

Ted and Shanice Have a Getaway to Remember
Ted (Keith D. Robinson) has been talking about going on a vacation with Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) for a while now. He decided to take her on an adventure to New York City. He really wants to give his girlfriend a dream experience like the love bomber we know he is.
The two go to New York, and according to the weekly teasers, Ted’s trip with Shanice proves unforgettable. We hope that in this case, it’s unforgettable in a good way. After all, their relationship keeps taking hits, even when their drama doesn’t involve Leslie. Most recently, they had to deal with Shanice’s brothers, who do not approve of her relationship with the plastic surgeon.
We’ll see if they can put all that chaos out of their minds and concentrate on having a good time. As long as they don’t go bird watching in Central Park — for Shanice’s sake — they should be good.
Vernon Shares Unpleasant Truths with Anita
Vernon (Clifton Davis) has stepped up this week. He had to work his magic with Joey (Jon Lindstrom) and get tough with Randy (Maurice P. Kerry). And he certainly had to get tough with Hayley (Marquita Goings, BTG’s Performer of the Month for September 2026).
The Dupree patriarch didn’t want any deaths on his hands. So, his goal was to intimidate Hayley into believing she could never share those recordings she made that implicate the Duprees and others.
Vernon, with Marcel’s (Darryl W. Handy) help, put the fear of God into Hayley to ensure she wouldn’t whisper, scream, or holler anything about the night Martin (Brandon Claybon) had to kill that racist thug.
Let’s hope she got the message. One never knows with Hayley. The fact that Vernon had to stop Joey from offing the con-artist cousins must be the ugly truth that the former senator shares with Anita (Tamara Tunie) on Friday.
Vanessa and Joey Hear Heather Out
Joey apparently won’t get a moment to breathe. He still has Heather (Ashley Jones) to deal with — after all, she was behind Vanessa’s carjacking. On Friday, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Joey hear what Heather has to say.
The complication here is that this chat involves both Vanessa and Joey. As we know, Vanessa has no idea that Joey’s sister is The Impaler. So what will this conversation involve? If Joey and Heather get a moment to speak alone, we’ll see what Joey has to say to his sister then. Whatever it is, it won’t be pleasant.
In Other DMV/Fairmont Crest News
While Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) makes good on a promise, Smitty (Mike Manning) draws a hard line with Martin. Thanks to Smitty’s Impaler-related series of articles, he’s getting some unpleasant attention from the cops. And so this hard line that he takes with his husband may be about protecting him as the election grows closer.
Meanwhile, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) doesn’t back down. And this action-packed Friday also includes Madison (Kenjah) leaning on Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) after risking it all. Lately, Madison and Chelsea have been dealing with lawsuits, black widows, and child labor scandals. What is Madison risking, and why will she need her fiancée’s support?
