Last week on Beyond the Gates, The Articulettes took the stage for their comeback concert. And relationships were in distress. Smitty and Martin navigated life separately. Ashley rejected Derek’s suggestion that they reunite. Leslie stole from her daughter just to get a ticket to the big concert.
This week, it looks like Nicole might finally be moving on, which means Ted is left out in the cold. Here’s a breakdown of the BTG video preview for the week of August 4-8.
Post-Concert Glory
The video preview starts with an emphatic Vernon (Clifton Davis) intro: “Ladies and gentlemen, the Articulates!” The comeback concert is over, and now it’s time to celebrate The Articulettes and what they’ve accomplished. Not just their past but their present, too. And who knows where this special performance will propel them in the future.
“We’re not here to start any drama.” Do Eva (Ambyr Michelle) and Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) want to attend the after-party? They’ll have to deal with the family bouncer first. “Oh, you have two seconds to get the hell out before I make you. One,” Kat (Colby Muhammad) responded.

Is Nicole Moving On?
Cut to Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) and Carlton (Robert Riley) laughing and having fun. If you recall, Carlton is Ted’s partner in his practice! But that doesn’t seem like a problem for the plastic surgeon who apparently has designs on the psychiatrist. “What do you say we continue these laughs over dinner sometime?” he asks.
Things instantly get awkward when Ted (Keith D. Robinson) arrives on the scene. Will Nicole accept Carlton’s invite?

An Andre Declaration
While Andre (Sean Freeman) and Ashley (Jen Jacob) kiss, we hear Andre say, “I know what I want now. I want something real, Ashley. Something with roots.” Is he saying that he doesn’t think he can get that with Dani (Karla Mosley)?

Hayley Needs Help
“Somebody help me,” screams Hayley (Marquita Goings), who seems like she and her alleged baby are in distress. There’s even blood. But when Dani is the one to show up and attempt to step up, Hayley gets adamant that she doesn’t want Dani anywhere near her. “Don’t you touch me,” she yells. What’s going on here? Is Hayley really in a state of emergency?
