On Beyond the Gates, the Duprees are still feeling the fallout from the most angsty anniversary party ever. Meanwhile, Doug and Vanessa’s shaky marriage may get shakier this week. Finally, Anita confronts her Articulettes past, which she loved. But there were also painful parts she’ll have to relive if she wants this comeback to happen.
Fateful Choices
Three teasers this week have our attention. First, the Duprees navigate heartbreak and hard truths as Eva (Ambyr Michelle) makes a fateful choice about her mother. If we’re talking heartbreak, then Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) has to be at the center of it. She’s drowning in heartbreak right now and even contemplated selling her house to get away from it.
As for Eva making a fateful choice about Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant), she needs to share her suspicions about her mom’s involvement in running Laura (Destiny Love) off the road, and then later, adding the extra potassium to the poor girl’s IV. All so she couldn’t work as Nicole’s assistant, so Eva could slip right in. Eva has to have an alibi for the nights in question, right? So it may be easy to prove she had nothing to do with the criminal acts. At this point, it’s every woman for herself.

Reunions & Betrayal
Anita (Tamara Tunie) was reluctant to jump on the reunion bandwagon. She knows if she did, she would have to face her past, parts of which she was not proud of. Namely, she knows she treated the other two Articulettes poorly when she ventured out as a solo act. At the end of the week, Anita and her fellow Articulette, Tracy (Maria Howell), finally confront the betrayal that tore them apart.
Will it come complete with flashbacks? And what are we about to find out about Anita? We already know that she’s formidable. But how shady did she get when she decided to go solo back in the day? Will we see Anita in a whole new light?

Marriage Mayhem
From the jump, Vanessa (Lauren Buglioli) and Doug (Jason Graham) seemed like they lived separate lives. Doug’s gambling took precedence over everything, as did Vanessa’s “extracurricular activities,” aka her affairs, which she has continued. And now she and Joey Armstrong (Jon Lindstrom) are heavily flirting. It hasn’t led anywhere yet, but it could easily happen.
Doug finally begins to connect the dots about Joey’s “friendship” with his wife. How will he react? Will he share his connection to Joey with Vanessa?
