The Beyond the Gates spoilers for October 13 tease developments for husbands Martin and Smitty. While Martin waits for big news, Smitty waits in shame. Poor Smitty. Elsewhere, Carlton’s back from vacation. Yet he goes on quite the emotional rollercoaster thanks to Heather. Here’s your Tuesday preview.
Key Takeaways
- Martin awaits important news as Smitty worries his legal troubles could derail his husband’s re-election campaign.
- Naomi and Jacob clash over Smitty’s case.
- Ashley helps an overwhelmed Shanice, while Nicole has a surprising change of heart about Ted.
- Carlton’s reunion with Heather takes an unexpected turn, and Samantha confronts Tyrell.
Martin and Smitty Face Challenges
Martin (Brandon Claybon) and Smitty (Mike Manning) are facing a challenging time right now. Not as a couple. So far, they remain solid. However, Martin’s re-election campaign is in full force, and the election is just around the corner. Anything could upend his chances of getting another term, which is one reason Smitty’s so worried.
Legal troubles loom large in Smitty’s life. There’s a deep fake video making his life hell. And makes it look like he may have had something to do with Lia’s death. But it’s really a ploy to ruin his reputation after his series of articles on The Impaler has negatively affected the red market plasma ring.
On Tuesday, look for Martin to wait for big news, while Smitty waits in shame. He can’t fathom that something he did could mess up his husband’s chances for re-election. That is a nightmare scenario for Smitty.
Friction for Naomi and Jacob
Meanwhile, Naomi (Arielle Prepetit) and Jacob (Jibre Hordges) will have to deal with being on opposing sides of Smitty’s whole legal mess. Naomi is now Smitty’s lawyer, which means she and her detective hubby will certainly clash on occasion. When Naomi shuts Jacob down, can they leave their professional battles out of their marriage?
Nicole Changes Her Tune With Ted
In BTG’s weekly video preview, Nicole (Daphnée Duplaix) has an interesting reaction to Ted (Keith D. Robinson) and Shanice’s engagement. She looks shocked. But she’s bound to feel more gray-area feelings about the whole thing. After all, she was married to Ted for a long time. The weekly teasers suggest that Nicole does an about-face with Ted.
Is she suddenly not as wild about Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) and Ted’s relationship now that they’ve taken things to the next level? Or is there something else going on here? In related events, Ashley (Jen Jacob) steps in when Shanice is overwhelmed. The nurse has a new role at the hospital. And she’s newly engaged. No wonder she feels overwhelmed.
In Other DMV/Fairmont Crest News
We haven’t seen Carlton (Robert Christopher Riley) in a minute. Most recently, he has been on vacation. But he’s back for two seconds and immediately reconnects with Heather (Ashley Jones). Carlton’s dalliance with the new Uptown owner takes a sharp turn.
In BTG’s video preview, we see the highly-charged situation he finds himself in with the woman who is The Impaler. Heather takes her much-loved nickname a little too literally when she uses a knife to tear his shirt open.
Finally, it’s not surprising that Samantha (Najah Jackson) challenges Tyrell (Jaden Lucas Miller) after what went down at their grandparents’ Homecoming pre-party. Tyrell showed up with his new girlfriend. And it was Samantha’s biggest enemy: Chessy Belleclaire (Madison Alsobrook). Seems like Samantha may have more to say about the matter on Tuesday.
