Key Takeaways
- Leslie makes Ashley a surprising offer with possible strings attached
- Family friction explodes as Eva, Kat, and Izaiah clash
- Chelsea and Madison reach a life-changing agreement
An Offer From a Villain
February in the DMV kicks off with an unexpected exchange. Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) makes Ashley (Jen Jacob) an offer. Leslie is friends with Ashley’s mother, Jan (Jerri Tubbs), so her paying attention to Ashley isn’t completely shocking. But something tells us that whatever offer she makes to Ashley might be.
Leslie is on a mission to run Shanice (Ernestine Johnson) out of Ted’s (Keith D. Robinson) life. She already planted some unmentionables in her ex’s hotel room. The fact that Ashley works side-by-side with Shanice might interest Leslie at this time. Or this is about asking Ashley to come work for the free clinic once it’s all up-and-running. Even if it is that, there must be some motive behind the ask, right?
The Chaotic Crew
Normally, Izaiah (David Lami Friebe) exudes a laid back vibe. The only thing that gets him going is his turbulent relationship with his father. He’s all about love and peace and his job at Banneker. But now that he is seeing Eva (Ambyr Michelle), he’s being pulled into an ocean of drama. Eva and her half-sister, Kat (Colby Muhammad), are like oil and water. They can’t be in the same room without a fight erupting.
After one of their catastrophic confrontations, look for Eva to vent to Tomas (Alex Alegria). She probably thinks that he will back her up like he usually does. We’ll see if that happens. Meanwhile, Izaiah and Kat have a heated exchange. This is a mess that may have no solution. Not if Kat and Eva aren’t able to figure their baggage out.
A Potential Wake-Up Call
Derek (Ben Gavin) received bad news — he will no longer be able to be a firefighter. He’s being forced to retire because he’s not physically able to do the job. He’s lost and, as a result, he took his anger and frustration out on Ashley and Grayson (Jordi Vilasuso). Derek and Grayson almost came to blows, but Ashley was able to diffuse the situation.
Derek realized he was in the wrong, and Ashley helped him realize that he has to find a new purpose. On Monday, he gets tough love from a dear friend. Let’s hope Derek continues to do the work and no longer puts himself in embarrassing situations.
An Engaging Decision?
Finally, Chelsea (RhonniRose Mantilla) and Madison (Kenjah) agree to a life-changing decision. These two are on the verge of being done completely or living happily ever after. Chelsea knows she bungled the marriage talk. After all, Madison walked right out on her.
But this could be a second chance for Chelsea to propose the right way and for all the right reasons. Is that what’s happening here? Because things could just as easily spiral. What do you hope happens between Madison and Chelsea?
